US under Bush is a new USSR

A human rights group claimed Tuesday at least 11 al-Qaida suspects have vanished while in U.S. custody and some were exposed to torture.

"Those guilty of serious crimes must be brought to justice before fair trials," said Reed Brody, special counsel with Human Rights Watch. "If the United States embraces the torture and 'disappearance' of its opponents, it abandons its ideals and international obligations and becomes a lesser nation."

I think you mean communism - russia right now has democracy (and a better president than Bush running it)

and your right - Bush runs the country like that, you simply have to look at Howard Stern as an example.

USSR = Communism

Today Russia is called The Russian Federation.

anyone that thinks USA compares to the Soviet Union is dumber than Bush.

It's rather clear you fail to understand the concept of communism.

i think he is referring to russias past history of dealing with dangerous and violent criminals.

usually you are just walked into your jail cell..and then a gun is put to your head and you are shot

Not really. The need to expand its territory by installing puppet regimes, the abolition of free speech (under the pretext that it poses danger to national security), the arrest of those who speak out against the government (going as far as extraditing Bobby Fischer) are all hallmarks of the Soviet regime. America's economic system is still obviously capitalist, but socially we're witnessing events eerily reminiscent of the early days of the Soviet empire. But hey, as long as no one is starving and they're not arresting you, why the hell would it bother you?

Does that mean Americans can start calling each other "comrade"? :winkwink:

The CIA has made people disappear and used torture ever since it was created.

Bush has nothing to do with it and right now the CIA is trying to make sure Bush doesn't win.

why did they create a new user? I think they should format and reinstall the OS.
So they can start all over.

The FBI trailed Mario Savio for more than a decade after he led the 1964 Free Speech Movement at UC Berkeley, and bureau officials plotted to "neutralize" him politically -- even though there was no evidence he broke any federal law, according to FBI records obtained by The Chronicle.
