new movie: Jesus didn't exist

Former Christian director's secretive film scheduled to open on 06-06-06

A movie whose purpose is to prove that Jesus Christ never existed and that demonizes Christian fundamentalists is scheduled to open on June 6, 2006 ? that is, 06-06-06, the "666" biblical mark of the Beast.

Directed by Brian Flemming, who is described on the film's website as a "former fundamentalist Christian," "The Beast" promises to spread the theory he claims is "gaining credibility among scholars" ? that Jesus was made up out of thin air.

"The authors of the Gospels, writing 40 to 90 years after the supposed life of Christ, never intended for their works to be read as biographies. There are no credible non-Christian references to Christ during the period in which he is said to have lived," states the film's site.

Currently in pre-production, the film's cast and crew are "legally sworn to secrecy," the promotional site says.

It's too bad such "scholarly" folks have never heard of, or read, "Josephus."

FYI, he was a secular historian of the times mentioned.

As usual, "if it's on a webpage, then it's gotta be true." LOL What bullshit!

Yes, well even "non-scholarly" folks are up to date and are aware that Josephus did not mention Jesus in his works. Jesus shows up in later versions but the earlier versions have no mention, meaning of course that this material was added at a later date by some enlightened "editor".

very impressed ezrydn, I have the book on my shelf and went have read through it.

The whole message of Jesus was not to play "catch me catch me" to prove whether he existed or not - the premise was "faith", simple childlike "faith".

Ouch! Which Country would actually play this movie? (Aside from Canada...)

CyberBachelor 10-12-2004 06:58 AM

Should be a good movie if done well. It will certainly create a buzz around the world...however I personally won't take the movie any more seriously than "ghostbusters":winkwink:

actually I hope every country plays this (we know those who's religion are opposed to christianity will)

it will definitely spark more controversy than Gibsons Passion movie, and thats good. I hope it does come out and everyone sees it - will force a nation to finally "think" for themselves instead of being told what to think.

maxdaname 10-12-2004 07:26 AM

They should make an anti-pope movie instead!:2 cents:

It takes more than that for a brainwashed person to begin thinking for themselves.

Once convinced, they're not easily swayed, no matter what you tell them.

If John Asskroft is still the AG the director will be arrested if he goes to the USA.

Ah well we'll see what this will bring, if you ask me they just wanna cash on PotC's success. :2 cents:
