Anybody's traffic/sales down?
Even though I run several different sites, I've noticed that all of them have slowed down in the past month or so. Traffic is down and the upgrade rate is down as well.
Is anybody else experiencing this? If so - what is the explanation for this? I thought October usually a good sales month! Could it be that people are focus on the election more than on the erection? |
No change either way for me... which tells me I'm not working hard enough. :)
|
sales are up for me! And putting less and less time in it.. I'm doing good:thumbsup
|
Isn't October supposed to be a very strong month for most?
|
this month sucks so far...
|
My sites have been slow for 2 months but are picking up fast with every night worth of work I put into them. Good Luck on yours.
|
up up up..... record month so far for me. :glugglug
|
October started off awesome!
but yesterday and today were below normal... i blame the fuckin holiday and shit (cdn thanksgiving, us columbus day)... makes people get all family-ish which is bad for sales |

I haven't looked at your site recently. You could prolly make PIB work. Shit, that sounds like sucking up. |
Our sales have been excellent this month
|
Traffic is up, but sales are a bit down.
|
I hear sales are up from my partners in crime.
|
Sales are quite a bit down this month so far but then it depends on sponsor. Some are performing well but a few are awful dragging the average down. :(
Unsurprisingly the worst hit has (had?) ibill as a secondary :) No prob. with traffic though. |
On average, it's about the same as last month.. No big differences here!

same here |
Traffic is down for me today... :Oh crap
|
I've been asking around and it seems that many people think that because people are more stressed out due to election time ( as we're being hammered by election coverage on TV/radio/print ) - people are less likely to spend $$$ on adult related materials.

I was shooting the shit on ICQ with someone from another dating site yesterday- he seems to think it has something to do with the election- I would disagree- our traffic is doing well. The affiliate program has been on a steady uphill climb. Each month better than the last.
I really think the majority of our customers are not into politics to the point it would drastically change their surfing habbits. They might check out Jib Jab, but they will eventually come back to us by the end of the night. :Graucho |

Sales are up 15%, traffic is up by 30% over the summer. :thumbsup
We have some great spots and banners still available, so if you are looking for more traffic let me know! DH |
For the month average (last month way up). For the week I am down a good 25% but I expect that to bounce come the weekend.
|
This month has been great so far, just the last few days have sucked donkey balls.
|
:thumbsup

Traffic down Sales down it's a fucking crap month
|
traffic up, sales down

You know, I think you could start a thread like this on any random day and you'll get the usual barrage or responses ranging from 'record setting highs' to 'average' to 'worst ever'.
I honestly believe that it's a highly volatile equation that's hard to peg down. Why does a site convert at 1:17 one day and then 1:700 the next? The first week of a month may start off brutal then explode in the last 7 days for record setting highs. I find that looking at a longer range forecast (month, quarter) shows much more stable conversions. With all that said.... I have noticed a steady decline in my *you guessed it* CCBill stats. Not just the usual above mentioned ups and downs, but a static decrease for well over a month. Typical days would go from 1:250 to 1:700, with an average this year of 1:450. Starting this september, things have fallen off, and don't appear to be getting better with the averge closer to 1:750. Now, this isn't one day here, this is close to 7 weeks. I love CCBill, and have learned to ignore the daily/weekly/monthly fluctuations, but we're going on 2 months now with no 'bounceback' to keep things within normal parameters. Sometimes hard to take your owm advice :( |
daveylapoo, I was talking about the past 6 weeks or so. I do not look at day to day revenues, but I see a decline in upgrades. My traffic is down slightly, but not that much, however with the same amount of people visiting much less sign up for free and even less upgrade! It's been like this for over 6 weeks - that's why I'm wondering now!
