Hmmm, interesting. But I doubt whoever is doing this (I seriously doubt its Jay) won't accomplish their goal. His site is so full of relevant links that even 9000+ spammy links should go unaffected. From my experience a banning comes from percentage of spammy links compared to overall links so I doubt whoever is doing this will get Jay banned.

100% not him doing it, wouldn't makes sense at all, it is someone that knows that excessive refspaming will get any domain blacklisted within month.

I used this method of PR gaining once and it worked. And the site still has its PR and it still gets hits like mad...

So... If you don't know about how google figures this kinda shit out, don't waist our time.

I guess it depends on how many links the refspammer has but either way, Jay's stuff has been on Google for a very long time with minimal movements in the SERPs. I still do think Jay will be fine though.

That isn't me doing those backlinks for sure. Honestly, I didn't even know what revspamming is till now.

Unfortunately no. I have been banned for refspamming before from Google long time ago but I was up in the 50k+ backlinks (you're at around 9k). I wouldn't worry so much though, like I said, I get the impression Google basis their bannings on the percentage of links which are refspam. And for the most part I imagine they check this by checking the anchor text if its matches the url that's being linked. Now compared to the number of legit backlinks you have, even at 50k spammy links I think you'll still be fine. Let me try and look if there's a way to find out the spammers IP though.

Now doing a few searches on the commonly used IP address above: 168.143.113.138

We get a few interesting results...

On the same IP address, and even a lot of the same refspam'd urls we see the same IP is spamming these urls:
a-dvd-porn.blogspot.com
a-disney-porn.blogspot.com
i-free-gay-picture.blogspot.com
i-sex-picture.blogspot.com
i-live-sex.blogspot.com

So, try doing a couple lookups on the above blogs (seems to be the same owner who's spamming those urls) and try to find a sponsor code and contact those sponsors.

For example his link to urentdvds is: http://in.urentdvds.com/cgi-bin/dvdH.cgi/10/133331/C

Contacting CECash might help you with that refcode to get in touch with this webmaster.

Yeah man - I just checked my backlinks and none of them are even showing up yet. Most of my backlinks are actually from sites I've listed and are legit.

This still concerns me.

Back in the day you could have just pulled up the full info with ssn or tax ID from CE.

The problem with spammed backlinks is that its quick. It will get you noticed in Google quickly and it won't show the backlinks for at least one update. But do a search for just your url (like the link in the first post) and you'll see there's over 8000 instances of your urls. The first 2 pages all seem legit but look at the other ones. Clearly spammed urls.

I could imagine that the owner of xcvv.com is doing something. A half year ago he stole my site layout. I am not sure why he is still listed in google and yahoo. (since over a year) With every update I think hope he is gone, but nothing. He is cloaking his sites and has several subdomains with nearly the same content. All his domains (over 170) are listed on 2 IP's.
