Beavers! Beavers! Beavers! (PICS)

People who make fun of Canada's national animal are obviously misguided.

The bald eagle ain't got nothing on the beaver bitches!

The lakes you see below weren't there last year. They build lakes from just small streams of water to build their houses. There are now 3 brand new lakes on our territory, one below the other. IT'S fascinating.

They cut through trees 8 inches in diameter to build dams over 4 feet high.

RESPECT THE BEAVER (I certainly do)

A beaver bit my nipple

Shooter 10-11-2004 07:21 PM

I'm a little worried that I entered this thread expecting to see an animal, not pussy.

Rob 10-11-2004 07:22 PM

I heard that they're pests and people can't stand them. I've never seen one outside of a zoo but I can see how they could be a serious pain in the ass.

Rats with wood-gnawing teeth and flat tails...that's all they are.

Yea. They can seriously screw up an area's eco-system.

Dildozer 10-11-2004 07:25 PM

Totally depends, but yeah they're known to screw up some areas. When they build dams on our main lake they prevent fresh trout from coming up the stream, so we have to destroy the dams.

wdsguy 10-11-2004 07:31 PM

I love shaved beavers

Spunky 10-11-2004 07:33 PM

They cause major damage and flooding..nothing more than pests

SpikeHeel 10-11-2004 07:36 PM

spare the beaver..and spare the trees which the only place where they can build their home. :warning

Cman 10-11-2004 07:36 PM

Fun fact:

There are a million times more eagles in Canada than there are in the US.

Why did the US choose an animal that they don't even have many of.

jacked 10-11-2004 07:38 PM

there was a beaver damn beside my camp, it was cool watching him work on his little house, then he dammed up the pond and it flooded the road, so someone shot him.

C_U_Next_Tuesday 10-12-2004 09:02 AM

Beavers are awesome. When I was in Alaska on a hike, we passed numerous beaver dams, they looked man made they were so immaculate...

In the winter time they allow other animals to occupy their domain as long as they help with the upkeep and management.
