Just Upgraded My Golf Irons

http://store1.yimg.com/I/greatgolf_1814_843199

I have been playing with my Killer Whale irons for some time now and they have never done me wrong. I came across an awesome deal on a $1100 set of King Cobra Irons and just went out to test them on the range.

Consider me SOLD! Wow what a great set of irons! I have never hit an iron so hard or so straight!

What do you guys play with?

You paid $1100 for a set of King Cobra irons!? You got ripped off big time. You can buy them at tgw.com for about $500 and I bet you can get the customed to your swing for about $600.

I play Titleist 962bs

gdog 10-11-2004 12:58 PM

I whore for Ping, I got all my irons, driver and putter brand new and fitted for $1300 and a bag too. I just added the new "hl" too to my bag and that club is good for 180 with its great loft.

Love their clubs, especially the new putter. My other best club is the "Rescue" that is the best club every made. Nice easy swing and you get 200 yards out if from the crappiest lies.

Anybody out in San Diego who wants to play let me know, I hit Torrey Pines a few days each week.

Johny Traffic 10-11-2004 12:59 PM

Nice sticks :thumbsup

:thumbsup

That club has saved my ass numerous times. 3 iron distance w/ 7 iron accuracy

Bugbee 10-11-2004 01:02 PM

Callaways for me always looking for people to play in Southern Cali

gdog 10-11-2004 01:03 PM

I could just play my rescue, a wedge and a putter and probably shoot better than my entire bag of clubs.

I cannot tie together my driver, iron, and putter sequence. On any given day one is out of sync for sure and frustration sets in.

I played last week, every drive was perfect, every iron was perfect, every putt was a 3 putt no matter where it landed.

bigunns 10-11-2004 01:05 PM

I used to play Titliest 962b's but I switched to one of the easiest irons I have ever hit...........Mizuno MX23's, it's a forged club that can be customized to your swing. I went from a 12 handicap down to a 6. I also bought the Callaway ERC Fusion which has helped tremendously.

My favorite club is my Powerbilt 7 wood...............pure heaven!!

I play in the Ft. Lauderdale FL if anyone ever wants to swing them!!

No I did not pay $1100 for them. LOL! I am paying around $400-500 Canadian for them.

That is what they were worth when my friend bought them back a year ago. He played with them once and they were just not for him. Hence the reason he is getting rid of them.

I play King Cobra's myself and wouldn't play another club if you gave me a set. These things hit sweet everytime you swing them. The only thing that even comes close is the Taylor Made 300 series. If you ever get a chance to hit those I highly recommend them aswell. What are you hitting for woods? Right now I am hitting a Ping driver and a Taylor Made burner 3 wood. Titleist sandwedge and putter finish out my bag.

TheDoc 10-11-2004 01:10 PM

Nike Slingshot Irons and Taylormade woods.

gdog 10-11-2004 01:12 PM

I have heard a lot of good things about the Mizuno irons, but I got to pump the pings, the G2 irons series are just so light with the heavier club face that the club gets that sweet spot almost every time unless I do something stupid.

Even with your great handicap I would swing the rescue around, the club is great for those short 20 yard chips outside the green instead of using a wedge too.

I got a set of TaylorMade RAC OS's at the beginning of the season. They have a great feel to them and even though I'm not the biggest fan of TM drivers, I played the whole season with the irons and love them.

Sosa 10-11-2004 02:29 PM

they have golf in canada? :winkwink:

HarlotCash Dyker 10-11-2004 03:38 PM

Taylor Made Firesole irons (rifle shaft) carry four different wedges - Mizuno woods.

Would like to find the time to use the damn things tho.

Newton - XXXAmigoz 10-11-2004 06:06 PM

I love my Ping i3's, stunning irons.

Got me itching to play gents, san diego fellows who can swing a club hit me at gavin at adult-ventures.com for a round.

Damn sun is setting earlier right now, I was rolling out at 4 each afternoon and getting 15 holes in most days.

Now I got to get out earlier. I am ordering shit on the web right now for my game room, I just got these couches http://leathergroups.com/brownnailhdwdtrimgrp.html and now I am thinking of putting this in there too http://actiongolf.com/asccustompages...categoryid=49.

I saw show on TV the other day where the dude had one of these in his game room.

Evil Chris 10-11-2004 07:29 PM

Callaway RCH irons.
Callaway woods and driver. Big Bertha Steelhead III.

Not that it matters much. I could use a hockey stick some days.
