1986.
I ended up graduated six months early. Although I was college prep all the way, four more years of school going for a college degree wasn't for me. I quickly discovered that I needed something to do with my life, so I joined the Marines. I finished boot camp two days before my offical high school graduation, and attended in my Dress Blues. Because I had a thing for computers I ended up going to college later in life. I learned more from the other students than I did from the classes. |
1993 :thumbsup

SIGH! This thread makes me feel olde! :(
I was supposed to be a Senior of 1978, but shit hit the fan in '76 when my Dad died of a sudden and unexpected heart attack. I had to drop out because I went out on my own after that. Went back to high school for one more year while working two full time jobs. Dropped out for the second time because I started making too much money to justify the hours for school. In 1982 decided to do a G.E.D. test just for the hell of it. In Texas, it was a five part test that was supposed to take 8-hours. I took it as pretty much a walk-in, no studying at all after being out of school for 4 years. It took me only 3-hours to complete, my scores in the first 4 of 5 tests were high enough to pass without doing any more. So, before I was 21, I had worked and had made lead technician or lead engineer with two different companies. Doing systems engineering, design, and research/development in the fields of robotics, computers (before IBM did their originai PC), and satellite communications transceivers. I did get some degree's after that, now I have some extra things to use if I ever experience a toilet paper shortage!! :winkwink: :thumbsup :winkwink: :thumbsup :winkwink: |
