Do you mean like a 'motion tween' thats the only way i've ever heard it used...
If so, it means the generation of intermediary frames in an animation that "fills in the gap" of a transition. For example if you are making an animated gif and you want a word to slide in from the left, you position it on the left, creat a new frame position it on the right, then generate 3 or 4 frames inbetween using a motion tween to create the animation automatically. |
Same can be done for morphing, alpha, effects, zoom, etc.

1. tween
A word that is used by marketers to describe youths between the ages of 10-13. Although some believe that tweens are actually between the ages of 10-15. Despite the fact that tweens have always existed, marketers continue to lay claim to discovering them. The word "discover" is often misused, especially in a historical context. No one discovered the tweens. What marketers actually discovered was their purchasing power. Tweens will spend around 1.4 to 1.6 billion dollars in a year! Reporter: Tweens spend 1-2 billion a year! TV viewer says as he hand his 12 year old daughter $50. "Wow where did those 10-15 year olds get so much money?" http://www.urbandictionary.com/defin...term=tween&r=f |
It's basically a marketing classification for major mainstream corporations. To them, a "tween" is defined as a child who is too old to be considered a "child" but not yet a teen. Typically a 11-12 year old. Corporations and ad agencies spend a great deal of time and money to target this group.
