Password trading boards

I know of a few boards where passwords are traded and requested, I guess everyone knows some. I have a similar board myself but I dont allow password trading because I count on signups to make a living and that would be stupid. However I dont own any paysites so I'm not that upset about people doing it in other boards.

What I want to know is: Does anyone gives a shit about this? Do you consider it a problem? And would you do anything about it if I showed you those boards?

Or is it just something we have to accept and live with it?

People that trade passwords need to fall off the planet.
They are stealing bandwidth and content from us.

most of them arnt real anyway. But there have been some high profile cases of password dealing this year anyway, seems they are doing something

The ones I'm talking about are real, but get deactivated quickly when the paysites have some kind of protection against this abuse. But some work, or people wouldnt go there by the 1000s.

you diable to the account being traded and wait for the owner to message you i would think maybe even just remove their account completly depending of if it was brute forced or not

There are ways to protect a site. The result is that a set of username/password will quickly become invalid.

If a paysite has already taken the proper measures, he doesn't care much.

Giving out your password is actually a very good way to market your site. Some people like the content and end up paying once they pass no longer works

our company finds them and shuts them down, by the time the dedicated host shuts them down they move to a new host and they are setup again. its a pain. last one we shut down was hosted on ev1 servers. they were very good to work with us. shut it down within 12 hours. but now they are up again on another host.

Password sites do make money, like veri says... if they have a pass and they like your site once the pass does not work they usually sign up. That is why some sponsors turn the blind eye if you know what I mean ;)

I know some passwords sites are designed to sell the sites.
I'm talking about communities where the members will do anything to help each other get free porn :winkwink:

This is portuguese but you may want to take a look at it:

http://www.fuckinside.com/

and the board is http://www.mugidores.com/forum/ , they are growing by the 100s daily because of the passwords section.

everytime i get a disabled pass i re send the info to the user. Then i get about 500 hits to my 401 page which converts under 1:20. So i dont really mind.

ya exactly - I know people who submit user:pass to sites like that - let them fly for an hour or so till they get a few replies of "cool thanks" or whatever the dicksnots post - then they cut it off and 404 them and make money from that.

IF you know what you are doing you can make some good cash easy - I have done it and seen it done.

Ok I get the point. Maybe I should build a passwords page with ref codes :Graucho
