I really liked it, I laughed more than I did in the first one - but the first one I saw on video and it's just not the same as the big screen.

Okay, I just saw this movie today, so I can definately review it. This one was definately funnier than the first one. And it was a very entertaining movie, it was worth the 5.50 that I paid to see it and more. But the movie had no originality to it, nor did it have any kind of plot. This one merely copied the first. All of the jokes were similar to the first one, and didn't really add anything new. The first one also had a plot to it. 4 friends who wanted to get laid before they graduated from high school. This one didn't have any plot at all. All they did was rent a summer house and throw a party at the end. Didn't really have any outline. They just threw it together as quick as possible so they could make some more money.
Just thought I'd add my 2 cents. |

American Pie 2 was without a doubt a funny movie, but I'd have to say the first one was better. I'd have to agree with bypass and say that the second did lack a plot.

'Fletch' remains the funniest movie EVER. American Pie 2 was pretty damn funny though - a lot better than I expected.
Little trivia simply to somehow link this thread to porn: In the first movie the actor who played 'Finch' was only 17 at the time of the filming - which is why there was no footage of him and Stifler's mom actually 'on' eachother. it is funnier, starts out kinda lame. but then really gets into it. I was though reallly lacking on plot, it really isnt about anything, was pretty much 2 hours of bathrrom jokes. well worth the $$$.

I will have to go see it. However, I've never seen a movie as funny as There's Something About Mary, which had me literally laughing so hard I couldn't catch my breath no less than three times (the gay rest stop scene, the hair mousse scene, and the scene with the dog). If it even comes up with 8 stars on that 10-point scale it will be a fantastically funny movie.
