Fantasy Football Advice Needed again!

Ok football fans so far GFY is 1 and 1 on the advice it has given me

Here is what I need to make a decision on this week

It's in the area of Running Backs.

I can either play Quentin Griffin from Denver who is playing Carolina. He has a sore ankle, but is good to go.

Or

I can play Michael Pittman of Tampa Bay who is playing New Orleans. He is back from suspension and Gruden said he plans to run the ball a lot since he is starting Chris Simms at QB. Pittman is healthy and a good runner, but then again it is the Tampa Bay Offense..

Who do you play? and why?

Clicky_Bucks 10-08-2004 06:17 PM

Griffin, without a doubt.

Go with the guy on the offense who has proven they can put points on the board.

Tampa....well, I wouldn't hedge a week on my squad that hasn't scored an offensive TD yet.

That's a hard call. Griffin has only put up points one time and is facing a tough Carolina Defense.

When pittman who is going to get a lot of carries is facing an easy New Orleans Defense.

It's a tough call, Griffin has only had one good game, then 3 bad ones, is he the go to guy or will he be benched for Droughns.

Did you miss the part when Tampa Bay hasn't scored an offensive TD yet?

Denver loves to run the ball. He's going to get the rock.

This isn't even a decision.

It's Griffin.

Hi no need to get all angry, but I prefer to take advice from someone who actually knows football.

Tampa Bay scored two td's vs Oakland
http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/live/NFL_20040926_TB@OAK

And one last week as well
http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/live/NFL_20041003_DEN@TB

Plus Pittman ran for 72 yards on 15 carries.

This week he should get 25 carries against a defense that is poor against the run

Griffin is injured plus Denver has Garrison Hearst, Ruben Drounghs, and Tatum Bell who will possibly get carries this week.

It's not an easy choice

Yes Denver likes to run the ball, but they are not running well this season.

pittman and thank me on sunday night:):glugglug

J-Reel 10-08-2004 06:49 PM

Pittman

.:St Ides:. 10-08-2004 06:50 PM

I am thinking pittman as well, give me some good reasons!!!

You are the one asking for FF advice on an internet message board. :1orglaugh

Go for Pittman!

:)

J-Reel 10-08-2004 07:29 PM

Broncos running back Quentin Griffin remained questionable Friday after a brief appearance at practice. "He practiced a little bit, it (left ankle) got a little bit sore so we kept him out the rest of practice," coach Mike Shanahan said. "So it will be a game-time decision."

Plus he's going against a good Defense.

Go with Pittman :thumbsup

Strife 10-08-2004 07:32 PM

Go with Pittman, he should do well against the Saint terrible run defense. He should also get a few passes thrown he's way with Simms starting.

MonsterMike 10-08-2004 08:07 PM

If those are your only RB options, you might as well chalk this week up as a loss.

spanky part 2 10-08-2004 08:14 PM

I would go with Griffin. It's in Denver.
Saints D is gonna be pissed after losing to Arizona.

paxton 10-08-2004 08:20 PM

Pittman is better play this week than Griffin. Plummer sucks and Denver wont score TDs this week. It will be an Elam FG fest.

Pittman on turf against the swiss cheese Saints defense is great. Who cares if Tampa hasnt scored? Pittman will gobble up yards both rushing and receiving.

But if he's available, I'd pick up Mewelde Moore from Minnesota and play him over both Griffin & Pittman. I have a hunch that the Minnesota/Houston game will be high scoring... VERY HIGH SCORING.... and that Moore is the homerun play.

No risk..no return. I'd play Moore.

wargames 10-08-2004 08:22 PM

Go with Pittman
Griffin is way to risky with his fumbling and
mental issues

Yeah I do it every week. Some people here are sports fans. It's not like the only thing asked here are porn questions, actually porn is not a very popular topic here. It is go fuckyourself you know.

Nasty D 10-09-2004 10:47 AM

If Griffin goes I would go with the Denver back over TB back.

Not when he puts the ball on the turf. Plus, the Rat (Shanahan) is the worst coach for fantasy football owners, because he doesn't mind using RB committees and he doesn't divulge the truth about player injuries.

To me this is a no-brainer: Pittman... assuming there were no better available free agents to pick up.

I hope you listened. Everything I said was golden...

1) Quentin Griffin is not active today. He is not playing. Thanks, Shanahan - you did it again!

2) The Minnestoa/Houston game was extremely high scoring with a 34-28 win for the Vikings in OT.

3) Moore rushed for 92 yards and had an incredible 90 receiving yards. That's 182 combined yards (18 fantasy points for most leagues).

4) Pittman had 51 rushing yards and chipped in 29 yards through the air (8 points).

5) Griffin = 0 points.

Common sense and simple analysis wins fantasy football leagues.

Cheers!

paxton
