sorry my mistake, my html is 74KB. I use frontpage, I guess it saves html different than others, i dunno
------------------ |
No pics on that page eh? Hmmmm
|
74 kb is still too much for a html file
|
The pics will be on my isp
------------------ |
I know it is still to big, I cant seem to get it any smaller
------------------ |
74kb is H U G E
------------------ I'm new so go easy on me. |
74 kb isn't really huge...
It depends on the type of site. A link site gets over 100kb easily |
easypic has a 370kb frontpage

You also might want to take a close look at the terms for the sites you're going to get traffic from -- many of them won't allow you to hotlink images either --
Of course do that after you clean up that code first -- FP is nasty, just nasty with extra crap you don't need http://bbs.gofuckyourself.com/board/smile.gif |

Why not use dreamweaver? It's just as easy as frontpage and won't mess up your code...
|

you might want to see if your host is using apache, then you could have them add mod_gzip to the apache server wich would help a ton with that 100K html file. Txt files compress down to 1:100th of the orginal size, and 99% of all browsers can use it with no plugin's, and for those that don't it reverts to the uncompressed version with no preformance hit http://bbs.gofuckyourself.com/board/smile.gif You can read about it here -> http://www.remotecommunications.com/apache/mod_gzip/ Tim |
