Ok, so the last 3 years that I've lived in Hawaii, I've lived in an apartment building with at least one expensive Italian soprtscar, either a Ferrari or a Lamborghini, or both. The first time I lived in a place where the rent was $1500 a month, and a Korean guy that lived there had a Ferrari Maranello and a Lamborghini Diablo, both brand new. The next year I lived in a place that was $1400 a month, and a guy that lived there had a Ferrari Spyder. This year I live at a place that is $1700 a month and theres a guy with a Ferrari 308. What I don't understand is, instead of buying a 2 or 3 hundred thousand dollar car, why not build a house instead of living in an apartment?

Anyone?

i dont get the point of owning a car like that on hawaii... but thats just me

Maybe that's not his only apartment? Maybe he has apartments in cities all over the world?

are all the apartments there the same price? and are you sure they're all apartments? we all know you've been known to fuck up the details.

Some people don't like commitment and rather rent a place than buy it.

same thing in my area, except its people with shitty houses putting $5,000 rims on their car

Well, there are people who live here with more money then they will ever know what to do with. I am talking 50 million dollar plus houses with helicopter pads and the whole deal, so for them to have a collection of cars is one thing, but they also live in the multi million dollar houses on Kahala Ave. I just don't understand why someone would buy a car like that BEFORE they had the huge house on the ocean to go along with it.

What's wrong with an appartment?
Maybe they move often from place to place?

houses can easily be sold. i've never rented, but dont you usually have to sign a lease?

Nothing is wrong with an apartment, but there are apartments here for over $6000 a month, why not live in one of those instead of one for $1700?

yep, and I'm one, don't got 2 worry about the yard, the roof, the plumbing.

No idea, I've never rented either.
I don't personally understand why someone wouldn't buy a place, since if you keep it in good condition the price won't go down (atleast in helsinki).
My apartment has increased 250% in value the past 5 years.
But each to their own, and I know for a fact that some rich people who could afford multiple places still rent.

Yeah, that's another thing that I don't understand.

All that is cheap in relation to everything else.

I agree, that explains why some people drive $80,000 cars (that just end up getting reposessed) and live in a condemned house, but I still can't understand why you would own a brand new Ferrari AND a Lamborghini and still live in an apartment.

The Korean guy does "some kind of internet stuff" according to the guy that delivered his Diablo, but since the doesn't speak hardly any English I didn't get a chance to ask him directly what is was.

Maybe he do some internet fraud :) He don't need own house to be catched in .... He need to change place often ... and fast car or two to escape quickly when needed :winkwink:
