What does one have to have to attract investment..

What does a person have to have to attract investment. Suppose Someone came to you with a great idea, and a solid plan. What else would you need to see from that person in order to invest with them...to be convinced in the stability of your investment with them?

Previous business deals this person has done, references. All depends on if we're talking mainstream or adult.

the funny thing is that I have had this happen wit some people. they have come up with some great brick and mortor ideas, and when I offer the cash and a deal to split the profits, they back out or change their minds.

I dont invest anymore in undeveloped projects

So if you want my investment money your site has to be up and running or software has to be created.

Also if all you have is an idea pretty much GFY, if you cant do ongoing work on the project its not worth it

Then standard research on who you really are

I always invest but I have my rules

Not to threadjack, but how many as investors ever invest in private projects instead of actual products or services, eg: something you'd only use in house, and not distribute?
