If a sexy, beautiful and smart girl

If a sexy, beautiful and smart girl, with a great personality for sales (the type you would hire on the spot) was scheduled for interviews on two occasions and had semi-believable reasons why she didn't show called and wanted to reschedule for a 3rd time would you do the interview or say 2 strikes you're out?

I know this girl would be a moneymaker but twice now she's flaked on her interview appointments. And both times she called after the fact to apologize for not showing up.

:helpme

quiet 10-07-2004 12:44 AM

fuck her (literally and figuratively).

hydro 10-07-2004 12:45 AM

i wouldn't give anybody a 2nd chance unless they had a good reason such as a family problem, an accident or something along those lines that was out of thier control.

kenny 10-07-2004 12:47 AM

You already can't rely on her and she doesn't even work for you yet:1orglaugh

Well the first interview was scheduled on that Monday after we got hit with Hurricane Frances, so I figured ok she probably won't show and she didn't but she did call afterwards and apologized.

The second time she didn't show and called after and used the "my car was in the shop" line, which is you know what.

:1orglaugh

helen of TOY 10-07-2004 12:49 AM

how can you tell that her reasons are semi-believable?

give her this last 3rd chance, but remind her that this will be the last...

at least she knows you dont give shit to unprofessional people too, no matter how good they are....

goodluck to her now :1orglaugh :Graucho

adultentertainment 10-07-2004 12:50 AM

nope - not for a sales job.

your word is everything, and her's in meaningless.

lots of hot, energetic, smart girls out there...or so I hear.

EscortBiz 10-07-2004 12:51 AM

i wouldn't buy that "car is in the shop" line, if somebody really wanted the job they would do what it takes to get there on time.

She is used to getting away with things because of her looks.

she's given you a preview of what to expect of her

do you even have to ask?

no doubt, that's the downside to hiring pretty women in your company.

On the upside though, they can reel in and keep accounts like crazy.

WiredGuy 10-07-2004 12:57 AM

A sales person who makes excuses? Do you really need justification for this? First time ok, the hurricane was understandable. Having her car in the shop (or whatever her real excuse was) won't cut it. If you do hire her, she'll be making excuses left and right. Don't let her looks play a role in deciding her job.

Exactly, she already had 2 chances and ruined both of them. Whats going to happen when you need something important and demanding done but she breaks down or calls in sick on the friday before labor day so she can have a 4 day weekend. Hire a big fat guy instead, at least you'll know he won't quit on you when you need him :thumbsup

graphicsbytia 10-07-2004 12:59 AM

I'll tell you something.. if my car were in the shop.. I'd figure out a way to get there if I really wanted the job.. I'd ask you to come pick me up if I had to

you'd be foolish to hire someone like this if you plan on depending on her for anything

SleazyDream 10-07-2004 12:59 AM

like people say - 3 strikes and you're out - she's got ONE more time at bat, and the pressure's on for her to hit a home run.

Except in sales looks are important and its very hard to find girls with the complete package of looks, brains, personality, and selling abilities.

I know a hot, English/German/Yugoslav speaking chick in Miami who would not pull this shit. How much does the job pay?

Well yeh for a management role it would be an easy no way decision. But for sales I'm not depending on anything other then her selling abilities. I was just curious to see what most people would say on this.

just remember that when she promises something she can't deliver then you have to handle it :2 cents: '

I've been in sales for over 30 years, I've trained salesmen and sold myself.. there's more than selling to sales, the aftersale work is really important.. details, delivery and so on

While that's true, I'd rather someone who was reliable and I could count on. You're in the Florida area there's plenty of attractive women who you could go after who'd be more reliable.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for giving someone a chance, but that second excuse she told you about the car being in the shop would never cut it for me. Especially if she called to say she's sorry AFTER the interview time.

How about you do this, give her one more try but giver her 2 minutes to sell you her job even though she did not attend the last 2 appoitments.

stocktrader23 10-07-2004 01:06 AM

A hot, semi reliable girl in sales is worth 4 reliable guys or normal women. Men can't say no to women, men run most companies, end of story.

Yeah, but so many hot girls in South Florida are either strippers or "kept" by men.

Yep, when I was in sales the women would always do amazing because they would close with "can you afford this?"

What guy is gonna admit to a hot woman that he cannot afford the product or service she is selling ?

Exactly. I've had both types and the hot ones always tend to be more flaky but always are tops in sales volume.

Here's my point of view on it. I'd probably interview her, tell her she can't be having "problems" while on the clock, and if she's good for the job hire her.

I'd rather a part timer make me $4000 a week than a dedicated full timer that makes $2000. :)

dennisthemenace 10-07-2004 01:23 AM

Wouldn't touch her.

There is likely someone equally attractive that actually wants to work and keep appointments. Hold out for better.

KRL...saw the pic....at least she called...that is a good sign. With looks like that and the posiblity of making good money on her, give her some more time... you have to expect a certain amount of that with talent...

We tried to get a deal going with another girl that would have made great money we thought, we advanced her a small amount of money, and POOF she never called or ever heard from her again, and she had over 2000 posts on GFY....really stupid.:2 cents:

chaze 10-07-2004 01:37 AM

I wouldn't, my most recent lesson learned is not to ignore the little things on life. Throw her out :feels-hot

Holly 10-07-2004 01:40 AM

I can't fathom anything more unprofessional than not showing up for a job interview and not calling. I can't believe she'd even have the nerve to call back and ask for another.

Hurricanes, car problems, whatever... everyone has a phone and if an emergency comes up you pick it up and use it. Not after you've already missed your appointment. Before.

I know things are different in the internet world, but in the real world if you want a job you dress appropriately, show up ahead of time, have your vita and all your shit in order, and then you do a follow up letter after, thanking the person for even allowing you to interview. I guess it depends on the scope and position of the job, though.

The phone network was indeed all messed up right after the hurricane. Even cell phones weren't working well. Also 2/3rd of the county had no power that day because of the storm.

Okay. But what about the second time? Her car obviously had to be in the shop before the interview, yet no call.

I guess it just depends on how much you'll need her or rely on her. Her actions already show she's not responsible and probably won't take the job seriously. If she makes you some money, I guess it could still be a good deal, as long as you know not to depend on her or trust her with anything important.

OzMan 10-07-2004 01:53 AM

Obviously, more than likely this is a peek into her future behaviour once hired. You hiring her after two no shows lets her know she can keep doing this and probably always get "one more chance".

The real question is how flaky will she be?

Calling in sick or whatever every other week but still pulling a great sales volume may well be acceptable to you.

If you feel that she has well above average potential give her another chance. Half the people that show up on time and do a perfect acting job at the interview will turn out to be disappointments down the line anyhow when the "real" them comes out. :)

jade_dragon 10-07-2004 02:39 AM

I would have said give her a 3rd shot till you showed that pic. Now I would say she looks like an immature party girl fresh out of if not still in college. Get youself someone who cares about the job and you will be much better off. She just strikes me as unreliable and common :2 cents:

sicone 10-07-2004 02:43 AM

I say 2 strikes and forget it...

she called both rimes after the time she was supposed to be there? Not a good sign:2 cents:

Adultnet 10-07-2004 02:47 AM

If she can make you cash give some time to show up...:)

reynold 10-07-2004 02:52 AM

if a girl have all this characteristics, shes bless. not all women are given the same opportunity to have that.:)
