Cheney = Clueless?
hmm Michael Moore:
"P.S. My favorite moment of the VP debate: Cheney saying to the moderator that this was the first he heard that that many black women in America had AIDS." did Cheney really say that? :eek7 |

I'm not a Cheney supporter, but Cheney didn't say that. He said he wasn't aware of the numbers that the moderator mentioned. Michael Moore took the quote out of context.
|
that would be very different yep..
|
and still yet, no one can see the bullshit that moore spews and the truth he bends to make it fit his own agenda.
:thumbsup |

Sounds to me like you're spewing your own brand of bullshit to fit your agenda. That makes you a hypocrite. |

You know what the difference is? Moore's fucking a comedian, Bush is supposed to be the President. |

Moore is a peice of shit :thumbsup

Just like Edwards kept repeating throughout the night, "Cheney said Iraq and Al Qaeda were directly connected, this is untrue!"
Cheney never said this. It was from a December 2003 "Meet the Press" interview... the media has been playing it all day when Cheney said to Tim Russert... "We will have struck a major blow right at the heart of the base, if you will, the geographic base of the terrorists who had us under assault now for many years, but most especially on 9/11" Now, since they are trying to TRICK you, they didn't show what happened immediately after, knowing most people didn't listen to the entire statement, it is as follows: Tim Russert: "So the resistance in Iraq is coming from those who were responsible for 9/11?" Dick Cheney: "No, I was careful not to say that." Since we're playing "Did he really say that?" |

I defy you to post one quote of him saying it, Rich.

"P.S. My favorite moment of the VP debate: Cheney saying to the moderator that this was the first he heard that that many black women in America had AIDS." Him saying he wasn't aware of the numbers the moderator mentioned is means exactly the same thing. Cheneys words: "Here in the United States, we've made significant progress. I have not heard those numbers with respect to African- American women. I was not aware that it was ? that they're in epidemic there, because we have made progress in terms of the overall rate of AIDS infection," In other words, he didn't know that many black women in America had AIDS. Now who's spinning the bullshit? |

Cheney merely stated that he hasn't heard of those specific numbers, which I might add were something to the effect of "African American women from age 25 to 44 are 3 times more likely to die from AIDS..." NOW who's spinning the bullshit? This disease is a problem, sorry to say not just amongst african american women between 25 and 44, so there is NO NEED TO READ INTO THIS STATISTIC. Now, is it a good question, yes. Why did we spend.. I believe 15 Billion internationally on helping Africa, when we could have spent more domestically, which is what I would like to know. Rich, I'm still waiting for my quote... |

To put it into a shorter version, millions of people are dying from AIDS, the VP has the numbers of those domestically and internationally. He DOESN'T BREAK IT DOWN INTO GROUPS. Why should he? People are DYING from AIDS, why should it concern him what color, sex or age they are? How will that fix the problem, him knowing the statistics, even more specifically how many more people are dying in one group rather than the other.... UNDERSTAND? Rich, my quote... |

"IFILL: I will talk to you about health care, Mr. Vice President. You have two minutes. But in particular, I want to talk to you about AIDS, and not about AIDS in China or Africa, but AIDS right here in this country, where black women between the ages of 25 and 44 are 13 times more likely to die of the disease than their counterparts. What should the government's role be in helping to end the growth of this epidemic?" And I know Cheney completely dodged the question. "CHENEY: Well, this is a great tragedy, Gwen, when you think about the enormous cost here in the United States and around the world of the AIDS epidemic ? pandemic, really. Millions of lives lost, millions more infected and facing a very bleak future. In some parts of the world, we've got the entire, sort of, productive generation has been eliminated as a result of AIDS, all except for old folks and kids ? nobody to do the basic work that runs an economy. The president has been deeply concerned about it. He has moved and proposed and gotten through the Congress authorization for $15 billion to help in the international effort, to be targeted in those places where we need to do everything we can, through a combination of education as well as providing the kinds of medicines that will help people control the infection. Here in the United States, we've made significant progress. I have not heard those numbers with respect to African- American women. I was not aware that it was ? that they're in epidemic there, because we have made progress in terms of the overall rate of AIDS infection, and I think primarily through a combination of education and public awareness as well as the development, as a result of research, of drugs that allow people to live longer lives even though they are infected ? obviously we need to do more of that." And on to Edwards doing the same. |
The debate moderator never asked Cheney "Do you know that many black women in America have AIDS?"
The moderator asked: "I will talk to you about health care, Mr. Vice President. You have two minutes. But in particular, I want to talk to you about AIDS, and not about AIDS in China or Africa, but AIDS right here in this country, where black women between the ages of 25 and 44 are 13 times more likely to die of the disease than their counterparts." Cheney Answered: "I have not heard those numbers with respect to African- American women." |
stocktrader23 I do not see one thing wrong with what he said, nor did he say "I didn't know black women have AIDS," he said:
"I have not heard those numbers with respect to African- American women. I was not aware that it was ? that they're in epidemic there..." Secondly stocktrader23, how about stating the entire quote from President Bush in your signature, I've already taken it upon myself to get the entire quote, I'll provide it for you: Asked about "this war on terror" during that interview, Bush said: "I don't think you can win it. But I think you can create conditions so that those who use terror as a tool are less acceptable in parts of the world. Let's put it that way." But obviously, it won't help you, you can't even understand what Cheney said. |
The question was not about whether Cheney knows that many black women have AIDS, it was about the fact that black women between the ages of 25 and 44 are 13 times more likely to die of the disease than their counterparts.
From that, Michael Moore thinks that Cheney said to the moderator that this was the first he heard that that many black women in America had AIDS. :1orglaugh |

Notice how Cheney says "rate of infection" in the same sentence that he says he wasn't aware of the epidemic in regards to African American women? That would lead anyone with a brain to believe he was in fact talking about how many people have aids rather than how much more likely black women are to die from it than others. |
Quote:
Don't blame Moore because Cheney didn't understand the question. |
Quote:
This does not deserve any further response, you've taken an undefendable position and obviously know it since you're taking desperate action using slander. Rich,... where's my quote at... |
Quote:
ahahahahaha |
The moderator never asked if Cheney knows that many black women have AIDS.
I don't like Cheney at all, and I don't like Republicans at all, so tell me what agenda I'm pushing? |
Quote:
I'm glad you understand what she asked as it was pretty clear. The obvious point is Cheney either didn't understand it or decided not to answer the moderators question. Instead he started in on the rate of infection, i.e. the NUMBER of people infected. |
Quote:
I understood the fucking question, you just can't follow Cheney's answer which was very plainly stated. He doesn't know the numbers she presented, but the overall number of infections is down. UNDERSTAND?.... I give up on this one. Where's Rich with my quote?! |
That was pretty bad . . .
but, did you also "catch" the fact that Cheney voted against "meals on wheels"????? What the? He must really just HATE people in general. He obviously hates minorities but his hate extends far beyond. |

What should the government's role be in helping to end the growth of this epidemic?" The question is regarding healthcare as she states. The question is regarding a particular demographic (which one is irrelevent, and he doesn't have to know the number off the top of his head she gave him the damn numbers). The question was why is that demographic more likely to die once they do contract aids. Instead of answering that they are less likely to be able to afford the proper healthcare because the Bush admin. is in bed with the drug companies, he chose to change it over the the rate of infection and dodge the question completely. And you saying the fact that 13 times as many black women between the ages of 25 and 44 DIE as their counterparts is irrelevent is the most retarded thing I've heard. Anyone that wants to see the context of her question has it right in front of their face. You however choose to ignore it, much like Cheney, and talk about the rate of infection overall which has nada - zip - zilch to do with it. |
You're right! We should focus on African-American females between 25-44 about the AIDS problem. That will solve everything, because after all, nobody else is getting the god damn virus.
THAT IS WHY HE RESPONDED THE WAY HE DID. He was not aware of the numbers, because he doesn't break it down into little fucking groups, like in the question asked by the moderator. Hypothetically speaking, AIDS is down by 25% let's say, that is a hell of an accomplishment, I would remember that number in preparing for a debate. I sure as hell wouldn't go in thinking, well AIDS is down 25% but it's up in the demographic of.... Explain to me why he should have. No more to be said about this, if you can't understand that, ... I don't know what to tell you. "But in particular, I want to talk to you about AIDS, and not about AIDS in China or Africa, but AIDS right here in this country,..." Yes, that is the question that was asked. She asked about AIDS RIGHT HERE IN THIS COUNTRY. Now she added a statistic. "... where black women between the ages of 25 and 44 are 13 times more likely to die of the disease than their counterparts. What should the government's role be in helping to end the growth of this epidemic?" AT WHAT POINT DID SHE SAY "HOW WILL YOU DEAL WITH IT SPECIFICALLY CONSIDERING THIS DEMOGRAPHIC." She merely stated it is where ... and gave an 'astonishing' statistic. It is an EPIDEMIC IN THIS COUNTRY, and ALL COUNTRIES, she did not say JUST AMONG BLACK WOMEN 25-44. |
You have 0 grasp of what she was asking so there is no use responding until you do. For the last time, she pointed out African American womens death rate not the rate of infection. This has to do with healthcare because more African American women CAN'T FUCKING AFFORD THE HEALTHCARE SOME OTHER DEMOGRAPHICS CAN.
The topic was healthcare. The question makes perfect fucking sense and is highly important. You are just too retarded to understand it. |
