That is some really sad shit. But it is not much different in Mexico either.

We stopped and looked at a boxer puppy ( about 5 months old) and he had been in a cage so long that he could not stand all the way up. My wife wanted to buy him, but we already have 2 dogs and a bird, so we could not.

The Asian cultures don't look at dogs, cats and other domesticated animals like we do. To them they are food and they treat them horribly like they do all other livestock.

Its a very sad situation. The governments have enacted laws under massive pressure and complaints over the years from other countries, and it has gotten a bit better, but its so widespread that its next to impossible to enforce.

Why? We eat creatures that other cultures believe are Gods and ancestors. It's a different culture...not right...not wrong. Just different.

Some Asian cultures recognize certain dog breeds as food animals, whereas other breeds are kept as pets.

They need to have more humane laws enforced to control how they treat their animals, but I think it's hard to do that with such a huge population.

Dogs are fellow predators, and you don't treat intelligent predators like livestock for one. Two, dogs have been our companions, protectors and helpers for many, many thousands of years. If we hadn't accepted their presence around the campfire as companions, they would still be wild and trying to eat us.

Eating dogs is a betrayal of the contract, and anyone with any intuitive decency knows it without being told.

Messing with defenseless animals is a seriously fucked up issue and everyone should help protect the little bugers.

Dogs are more dexterous than cattle. Cows are intelligent and do escape quite often.

All bullshit aside, the fact remains that one can get more meat from a cow so when we have millions of cattle at our disposal, why eat a dog?
