The Rolling Stones or The WHO?

Which are you a bigger fan of?

Who has had a bigger influence on music and on you?

Most people say the stones since they have been around longer, but to me The Who is where it's at!

Rick Latona 10-06-2004 09:17 AM

Stones, hands down. What's your favorite Who album?

Johny Traffic 10-06-2004 09:18 AM

The Jam

Rick Latona 10-06-2004 09:20 AM

Pick up Goat's Head Soup and Beggars Banquet by the Stones if you don't have them already.

dennisthemenace 10-06-2004 09:20 AM

The Who :)

AVM 10-06-2004 09:28 AM

Never liked the stones. They suck imo.

The Who are good though. Baba O' Riley, Pinball Wizard, Behind Blue eyes -

Stones are OK but I've always liked The Who. Saw them live in '82. I think my favorite album would probably be the Quadrophenia soundtrack.

Nicky 10-06-2004 09:35 AM

The Rolling Stones for sure......:thumbsup

Steve 10-06-2004 09:36 AM

The Who

Nancy M00re 10-06-2004 09:40 AM

Defenetely the who. I saw both bands in concert and the who was by far better than The Stones.

Basic_man 10-06-2004 09:42 AM

I'd say the Rolling Stones changed the music more than The Who!

Jamdin 10-06-2004 09:42 AM

The Who is #1 while the Stones are like #130 on my list :thumbsup

slickcashlisa 10-06-2004 09:55 AM

Rolling Stones with not one doubt in my mind :thumbsup

The Who reached higher peaks, The Stones were great for a longer period. The Who are like Bobby Orr, The Stones are like Gordie Howe. :)

2477 10-07-2004 08:50 AM

The Bloody Who

Lee 10-07-2004 08:51 AM

The Who for me, but not by much.

candyflip 10-07-2004 08:53 AM

Maximum R & B Baby...

My vote goes for The Who.

DrThorsen 10-07-2004 11:26 AM

Both bands are great, but the Stones put out more great songs over a longer period. The peak for me are the Mick Taylor years around 69-74, every album a classic, Let it Bleed, Get yer Ya Ya's, Sticky Fingers, Exile, Goat's Head Soup....

The Stones put out more music but The Who put out bigger songs. I mean that in an epic sort of way:glugglug

The Who by far.... not even close and I like the Stones.

"Whos Next"

:thumbsup

They are both amazing. The number of true classics each has produced puts them each in their own league and any comparison is simply not possible.

longbrick 10-07-2004 01:06 PM

Everybody knows Deep Purple is the best, everybody plays there music and dont know who wrote the rythims

Wow, this is a tough one . . . I have seen both in concert several times going back to 1971, and . . . damn, I don't even know what to say.

I want to say The Who put on a better concert, but the Voodoo Lounge Tour was pretty bad ass, as was the Quadraphenia Tour by The Who.

I think, these days the Stones would have the upper hand as they have more of the original members still alive, but old school Who probably gave a better concert.

As far as who is best, I have to give it to the Stones simply because they have so much more to choose from, and they have been able to adapt to every new music niche, yet maintain their "Stones" sound.

Hell, they were able to survive the disco years and release albums.

Fave Who album - Live At Leeds
Fave Stones - really hard to say . . . Beggars Banquet I guess
