|

oh man that is to awesome!!! The person that owns the domain caught onto it, and said shit I need to fix that!!!!! I am sending them a nice email!!!! |
It's just too bad that a large percentage of Republicans don't know how the Internet works.
|
CHENEY: "Well, the reason they keep mentioning Halliburton is because they?re trying to throw up a smokescreen. They know the charges are false.
They know that if you go, for example, to factcheck.com (sic), an independent Web site sponsored by the University of Pennsylvania, you can get the specific details with respect to Halliburton." They're gonna raise hell about this tomorrow. |
Cheney might as well have said "go to bushsucks.com if you want to get the real info on us"

I love it |
How do you think that affected their campaign?
|
George Soros could have called the domain owner and said, I'm going to wire you $25,000. Now forward the domain to George Soros.com for next two weeks. George Soros has taken out full page ads in major publications against Bush.
|
The owner of factcheck.com is a major domain player, over 100,000 domains...that's at least $600k in annual renewal fees...I think it's safe to assume he's a multimillionaire himself, so the potential PPC income from the domain wouldn't be as significant to him as it would be to a small-timer.

Has the media caught on to this yet?
If not, especially folks routing for Kerry/Edwards, contact CNN, NY Times, etc... And for you techies, submit an article about this snafu to Slashdot.org ... 1. they have a political section now 2. such domain extention confusion is common; be interesting to read stories of when such confusion leads to various problems. Ron p.s. Going to spam this thread with a for sale ad since we're talking about domain names ... DormGirls.com ... next bid of $3050 USD, as of this moment, meets reserve at Afternic! |
Cool, new media is beginning to pick up the story ... but it looks the White House hasn't quite figured it out yet LOL!
Be interesting to see if the White House pulls/edits the content at this url soon ... http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/relea.../20041006.html :1orglaugh :1orglaugh :1orglaugh Ron |

Don't use instant messaging ... however, use PM at various select boards. Just replied to your email with some info that should help.
