Yes I think they must. Cheney annihilated Edwards. Edward's face actually turned red a few times as Cheney owned his ass.

Hate to say this but:

Dukakis won the debates.
Perot won the debates.
Kerry won the first debate.

Don't start celebrating yet.

Webmaster_Logic 10-05-2004 08:02 PM

Good point.

Doh. Polls are always horseshit. How many times do I have to post it? :1orglaugh 3 days before Reagan beat Carter, the polls had Carter comfortably ahead. Forget polls.

But Edwards gained more ground IMO. Easily..

Stamen 10-05-2004 08:10 PM

I think the exchange came out even.

Cheney didn't really paint for me the picture that him and Bush are going to make things better. Which makes me believe what Edwards said was true, the Bush/Cheney admin is just going to give us 4 more years of the same.

That said, Edwards fucked up more in the debate, like the "breaking the rules" part, which hurt his message overall.

Doctor Dre 10-05-2004 08:11 PM

Actually the rest of the world ran to cnn ...

Check out msnbc they are seeing the same thing.

Must be a conspiracy, or maybe republicans are to blind to see what the rest of the country is seeing.

Don't know if you listen to NPR, probably not, but Dems are signing up to vote over republicans at a 2 to 1 margin.

There is a quiet uprising coming, and Bush and Cheney are gonna be working at Haliburton.

Only problem is with Cheney out of office there won't be much work there.

spanky part 2 10-05-2004 08:35 PM

Fox news 57% for Edwards:1orglaugh

If anything Edwards brought about the real reality of this election and explained to the people that if you want 4 more years of what you have now then vote for bush if not vote for kerry and let someone else run things.

the big one is this friday. most people think there will be many more domestic policy questions. The weapons inspectors reports come out tomorrow then friday morning the jobs report comes out. If the jobs reports is bad for bush you gotta think kerry will hammer him. Also it's a "town hall" style debate so Bush will have to think on his feet . this is the debate he didn't want and he often botches things like this so if he sucks again it could be bad for him.

Whatever. It's the PEOPLE that decide elections not poitical pundits. MSNBC also has Edwards winning by a landslide. Even the Tampa Tribune has Edwards winning be a landlside. And Hillsborough County went for BUSH in 2000 so no bias there.

GatorB 10-05-2004 09:27 PM

Houston Chronical has Edwards winning 90% to 8%. San Antonio paper has Edwards 92% to 7%. Isn't Texas BUSH country?

Can't find a poll for Dallas. Have to fill outsome LONG ass registration form. No thanks.

WHERE do you get Dukakis & Perot winning the debates?
Dukakis CRASHED & BURNED in the debate about his wife getting raped (he was LEADING in the polls till that debate).

Perot? :1orglaugh :1orglaugh

Wow...it is amazing how history keeps getting revised.

Got any proof there to back up your statement?

The reason I ask is that Carter was told the weekend before the election that he was going to get clobbered by Regean. And that came from Democratic polling. Jodie Powell (Carters Press Secretary) first released that info after the election.
