I had 2.5 dsl before so it was still pretty quick...I don't know how people still use dial up

How much does a computer effect the speed of a cable connection?

i just tested my cable connection now...

Communications 1.3 megabits per second
Storage 161.3 kilobytes per second
1MB file download 6.3 seconds


Usually it's around 2-2.5MB/sec.

It doesn't really..I only have a 800 p3

My ISP offers up to 5MB/sec. yet I only get around 2. They mentioned something about certain computers help faster connections but I didn't get the details.

.5mbit per sec isn't THAT fast...

btw, pretty slow speed for broadband

I get 300-400KBps download and 80KBps upload

lol I saw modem speed and had a flashback.

I'm thinking about upgrading to 2.5, rite now I got 1.5

Just ran a test and got 2245kbps download and 3039kbps upload :thumbsup

You're right..I called telus and they did a bunch of tests..I'm only getting 60.86...it should be up to atleast 200..They didn't switch me over yet :feels-hot

It doesn't. The two exceptions would be
1) If you
had a simplex network card that could only
send or recieve at any given time as opposed
to uploading and downloading simultaneously.
That wouldn't make much difference.
The lights on your router may tell you if it's
connected as simplex or duplex.

2) If you had a super fast connection, over 50Mbs,
you'd want a fast bus mastering network card.
