Denied from ARS

I was denied by ARS because the word "pissing" was found on my site.

I thought pissiing/watersports is pretty mainstream? Lots of big sites have pissing sites.

Does ccbill ban the word pissing?

I thought you would have been banned because of "double anal" not pissing :1orglaugh

well, I'm glad that I'm not approved. I can't do business with anyone that is that uptight. I think under terms it says that if they catch you with these "naughty words" on your site, they can cancel you and keep your money.

ARS are just trying to protect themselves. You'll find far more US based sponsors that don't have pissing sites than those that do for good reasons.

tonkagunner,

All you have to do is apply with a URL with out the word Pissing on it. Doesnt seem like a big deal to me. You are not banned from using the program.

pissiing/watersports is not mainstream, its on the brink of what G. Bush Jr. calls "Indecency" which does not make lawyers and banks all that happy.

We have to protect ourselves, I dont see that being uptight :) That list of banned words isnt that big.

If we catch you using these words, yes, your account is put on hold until you remove the words, but we never just take webmasters money, what good will that do ARS? I truly hope you dont use any other words besides pissing that are on our banned list.

So, you are saying that nowhere on the main domain can you have the word "pissing"?

I probably wouldn't even have your banner or link on the page with the word "pissing/watersports" but I would still have a page or two with those words reserved for other sponsors.

I think it is better to have system like CCbill does with their sites. If you have a banned word on your site and you click on one of their banners, person can't go to the site. An error message comes up. An, then webmaster removed that banner or changes word. No banning, no "on hold list" and thats all.

tonkagunner 10-05-2004 10:33 AM

EvilFubAr,

If you don't like the word "pissing" you should probably add it to your bad words list in your terms and conditions. I don't see it listed.

arg 10-05-2004 10:56 AM

Yep, I see scat, but not pissing. ARS used to run a pissing paysite called Golden Trickle.

fuck, that's weird. Maybe they don't allow this because they don't have a pissing site to promote..

I originally had my ARS app rejected because my site had the word l*lita on it. Actually, it was only visible in the source - one of my trades had that word in their domain. It didn't actually show in the browser window unless the surfer moused over the toplist link. Once I pointed this out to ARS they allowed the app.

Seems a bit of a silly system though, I could have just signed up one of my other sites and passed with flying colours first time...

Giorgio_Xo 10-05-2004 11:11 AM

No worries. ARS doesn't convert anyways. :)

zentz 10-05-2004 11:14 AM

ARS4Real stats are fucked up this days
