TGP thru ratios
Just curious what kind of ratios of people actually click thru to something other than the free stuff on you guys' gallerys?
Basically because I'm getting decent (for a newbie) traffic to my free gallerys, but it seems like pulling teeth to get them to click thru to anything else. Of the last 4000 to the free stuff, only about 50 or so to anything else. Does this seem like a normal traffic pattern? Also wondering if anyone can recommend a good banner exchange program to get started? ------------------ It's all good. http://bbs.gofuckyourself.com/board/biggrin.gif [This message has been edited by Xanobyte (edited 08-09-2001).] |

There are a couple of basic rules, but remember that the exception will confirm the rule... :
1. use QUALITY content. When surfers see low quality or over-exposed content, they will leave your site fast as light. You have to steal their attention and make them look at your stuff. 2. Avoid banners. Surfers are getting sick of them (especially TGP people). Use original text links like 'Oh man... I visited this university-website and saw the cutest teens on earth... blahblah'; then you make a chance they will click. 3. Avoid freehosts. They have a lot of banners; if people click on banners, they will choose theirs. When you notice that you can afford it, choose for a payhost. It costs money but will improve your clickthrough. But look out : galleries EAT bandwidth !!!! ------------------ http://www.sponsorreport.com - Maximize your Cash using the Smart Method ! |
Your ratio could be higher I think. The best way is to visit and look at galleries posted on differnent TGPs, learn what sponsors are used, how they are advertised etc...
Try different combinations of sponsors, links etc. And yes, that's true that good content improves your ratio. It'a also true that you should tend to using text links instead of banners. TGP traffic is hard to work with, because it's smart traffic. ------------------ Custom Programming - CubeInnovations - http://www.cubeinnovations.com |
Based on Wizzo's appearance on Plr a while back, here's the tips I got from the show
1. rotate your sponsors 2. use text links or text links around a graphic 3. use the text to tease your customer, make them want to click 4. use softcore or semi-nude pics, make it "lead up" to something then stop--customer gets excited, clicks the link 5. use "more of this series" as a text link--use a variation cuz this gets played out 6. the main point of a gallery is not to get the customer off...that's the job of the paysites. the key focus is to make them click. so extra fancy design work is fine..if it leads to a click, it's not worth much if it just enhances the user's experience but doesn't compel them to click 7. I would add, keep at it. Its easy to get frustrated in the beginning but keep learning and you should do fine. Good luck! PimpLink Quote:

Hey thanks much for all the excellent info guys! I appreciate it.
Based what you've said, and taking an honest look at what I've got, I'm leading toward my free gallerys that are in need of more creative work. They are all pushing my main paysite, which I've had quite a few people take a look at, and I know the quality of the paysite is in top shape. (should be, I took three months to build it!) My concern is that it's all "Amateur" and "Babe"/"Glamour" type soft stuff. Is there no market left for that type of site? Do they ALL want hardcore now? ------------------ It's all good. |
My guess is that there is a market for babe/soft material. Just judging from the "babe" archive category at Thumbzilla, I would assume that there is a lot of interest in that niche. Try SE traffic as well as partnering up with "babe-only" tgps.
Try trading with bikini sites too. Quote:
