Psycho Star Janet Leigh Dies Aged 77

Actress Janet Leigh, who won a Golden Globe for her shower scene in 1960 Hitchcock classic Psycho, has died. The 77-year-old's publicist said she passed away at her home in Beverly Hills.She worked alongside several leading actors including Errol Flynn, Gary Cooper, James Stewart, Orson Welles and Judy Garland.

Daughter Jamie Lee Curtis was the product of an 11-year marriage to fellow Hollywood icon Tony Curtis.

Her other film credits included Little Women (1949), Angels In The Outfield (1951), Scaramouche (1952) and Houdini (1953).

But, of her more than 50 movies, she is best remembered for the 45 minutes that she was on-screen in Psycho.

The 1960 Alfred Hitchcock thriller included the famous shower scene that made the film a classic.

Even though Janet's character was killed off early in the picture, she was nominated for an Oscar and received a Golden Globe.

Her next film was The Manchurian Candidate in 1962 with Frank Sinatra.

In the 1970s she appeared on the small screen in a number of made-for-television movies.

That's a shame

She 33 when she did Psycho? Wow. I thought she was much younger than that. Sad day. :(
