Buzzcocks but I am a huge Bolan fan too. Fleetwood Mac did the second best Sara/h song ever so they are okay by me too.

For 70's I'd have to go more with the Sex Pistols, mainstream would be Queen

If you go back to the 60's I'd have to say my favorite was The Who
