I am fine with mine. See your eye doctor (can't spell the "opt.." word).
I want laser eye surgery though. |

Get some better quality.
The ones that let through oxygen. Bausch and Lomb for example. Your eyes are important. |
i have oxygen ones... my eyes are fucked :( not happy now.
|
I used to wear my contacts too much and developed an eye ulser. it hurt like hell! go see your doctor!

I wear contacts for 16-18 hours every day, no problems..
there are different kinds and makes, go to a good doctor and test them out (I know they tortured me with "try these and these and these", I switched like 7-8 kinds of lenses during a 2-hour exam, but it was worth it, after putting these on, I forget that I have them). |
I've been wearing soft contacts for 20 years no problems.
Johnson & Johnson's Acuvues http://www.jnjvision.com/ The best out there. :thumbsup |

I'm one of the lucky ones. I leave mine in for 3 months+ and even scuba dive. My optometrist freaks out every time I go and visit him but he has never found any problems with my eyes.
|
I wear mine all day, probably 10-12 hours at computer. No problems really.
Anybody order from 1800contacts.com? I've been using them for about 4 years now, great service. |

What you have to watch for is pseudomonus bacteria. My ex got that and got a permenant corneal scar from it. Your choice, but going 90 days is a big risk. |
i started using the monthly ones just 3 weeks ago. No problems so far, but i prefer glasses when i work in front of a pc.
|
i think KRL is right on this, although mine are monthly I got advised by the optician to change them every 3 weeks. How much do you pay for them in states?
|
contacts are old school.
you gotta go laser dude |
I have permanent damage to my cornea from wearing my contacts too much. But things have gotten much better since I've been wearing my glasses most of the time for the last few months. It's scary when you find out that you have permanently fucked up your vision...you only get one set of eyes!
|
myjah, did you do anything wrong like sleeping with them or something or was that after following the normal procedure n' advices?

I wear contacts, not the disposable ones, but the ones that last up to a yr. Sometimes my eyes do water a lot, but I don't know if it's my lens, or my eye makeup; i wear a lot of mascara and eyeliner and that could also be contributing to it...
I always wear glasses inside my house to let my eyes breathe, but never out in public, always wear contacts when I leave my house. |
Hubby wears disposables, but he is thinking of getting LASIK soon.
|
what brand do u have?
|
canon

There are lenses that are made to keep in for 30 days - non-stop Focus Night'n Day - CibaVision There are lenses for people with sensitive eyes or who's lenses dry their eyes - it's usually a bi-weekly or monthly wear lense & has high water content Proclear Compatibles from Biocompatibles There are lenses that are regular or mass-market type lenses that are either bi-weekly or daily lenses that you either remove & wash at the end of the day or you throw them out. Acuvues - Biomedics/Omni-Flex - Bausch & Lomb If you keep them in for 90days - make sure you are cleaning them daily - especially if you're doing any water or sand sports! |
i wear my contacts about 16-18hrs a day, every day
do what i do: get the expensive silicone lenses that allow much more oxygen to the eyeball... no more red or dry eyes |
Thanks for all the info TopBucksTrixxxia :) Unfortunately I have been doing this for close on to 20 years now and I must break this habit of leaving them in for so long. The ones I use are Focus Night & Day.

If you wear them underwater & doing sports/work in dusty environments, you should be wearing something that you remove & wash daily. NP for the info ;) |
underwater lens?? do exist? wow
|
Try cleaning them once in awhile.

a good place to order contacts for cheap is on visiondirect.com. my eyes get blood shot sometimes but that is when i know that i have to give my eyes a break so i just wear glasses for a couple of days then i am fine.
|
i wear mine 12 hours/day max ( with some exceptions) but when i get them out i always clean them.
And sometimes when my eyes are tired i just put up my glasses for a day. I also change my lenses after 1 month tb |

|

|
my friend often gets red eyes from her lenses. i think using the extended wear type is better.
|
i do
acuvue, but after awhile some of us develop dry eye syndrome |
There could be many factors effecting your comfort.
~how old are the lenses? ~do you wear them more days than the dr recommends? ~how many hours a day do you wear them? ~do you drink enough water? Drink a lot of alcohol? ~do you ever let your eyes have a break from them and wear glasses? ~how far away from your computer screen do you sit? ~how well-lit is your office area? ~does your computer screen have a non-glare coating? ~how long since you saw your optometrist? ~how old is your Rx? ~your corneas can change shape over time and you will need a new fitting, possibly a different brand of lens Any of these things (or a combination) could be the culprit. You need to go see your Dr, he/she's the only one who can tell for sure ...You only get one pair of eyes, don't fuck them up just to save a dime or because you're too busy or too lazy to make an appointment. I'm not saying that's the case with you, but I used to work in an Optometrist's office and I've seen all kinds of crazy things. |
try the hydra clear ones see if they might help
|
contact lenses are great, especially it has variety of design , you will enjoy using it, my eyes is in good condition and i dont have reaon of using it.
|
Anyone heard of Carrera eye contacts? (italy)
The girl at the store said are among the best, but she didn't sound that convincing to me. The pair costed me $21 so they'll better be good. |
