    Ten.com - show me a better paysite!

    Never promoted these guys, but I think I'm gonna have to start.

    Wow, what a novel concept, using FLASH on a paysite!

    A lot of programs are obviously worried about losing that 5% of surfers who don't have flash installed, but look how fuckin' sick this site looks!

          You must not have been around long. Flash is a bandwidth hog. I have seen plenty of Flash tours... most have failed.

                  On DSL it took longer than 15 sconds to play back.
                  There is a broken image on the thumb dated 9/23 and 9/24.The Tour pops a window.
                  Its has sound.
                  The tour is to soft.
                  The tour has to much text.

                  The tour is unfocused, meaning there is no target traffic to really send to it. Everyone targets now by niche so in effect this tour is detrimental to the common cause of why webmasters focus on niches.

                  Webmasters generate better sales while working and focusing on specific niches. Someone wake them people up at TEN they seem really out of the loop.


                  Basically it has all the hallmarks that do not generate sales.

                                      designing for netscape 0.00001 went out of style years ago- look at gmail - you are required to meet their requirements. designing for broadband or modern browsers is not overall a bad idea imho.

                                                                                                                                                              As far as size issues, a good flash designer/programmer can keep their sites fairly small, maybe even smaller than regular HTML sites.

                                                                                                                                                              I always thought flash integration of sites should be more widespread than it is, and as the years go by it will be for obvious reasons.

                                                                                                                                                              I like hybrid sites, I think they could work best.
