Finding People From Your Past - Wow!

Wow, the Net is so incredibly amazing!

I was going through a box of old letters and found a whole bunch from this cute girl from Flagstaff AZ I was pen pals with as a kid about 35 years ago.

So I said hmmmm, wonder where she is today. Did a google and lo and behold, her name pops up, and there she is working for an ad agency as a graphic designer in Arizona now.

I just e-mailed her.

This should be interesting and quite a surprise.

I found my best friend from my child hood (around age 5-10) in google - pic and all. I haven't email him, but it's always cool what technology can find out for ya. :2 cents:

i grew up in a small town in alaska. one day i was looking at classmates.com and everyone i went to school with... when it occured to me to search the Alaska Registered Sex Offenders Database. I found like 20 people that i grew up with. i could not fucking believe it.

I can't seem to remember the last names of any of my friends. And the ones that I do remember keep poping up listed in criminal justice databases,

Basic_man 10-02-2004 03:43 PM

I just got in touch with a friend I haven't seen for 15 years - had to track her down through some pretty obscure running scores and records that had her name in them, but it was all on google and within about 10 minutes I had an email back from her...

On a sad note, my psycho neighbor put my name in the search engine July and got my back phone line from from a horse ad. About an hour ago I found a message on my phone that she left a fake message saying I needed to appear in court yesterday for a restraining order..

She's so fucking predictable..

Dawgy 10-02-2004 03:59 PM

a lot of people from when i was a kid have tried to contact me over the years. i just ignore them. didnt go to my 10 year reunion & doubt ill do the 15 or 20. i figure why should i try and be their pal now, when they treated me like shit as a kid. i graduated, moved, and never looked back. fuck em.

Rochard 10-02-2004 04:09 PM

Classmates.com hooked me up with a bunch of people I went to high school with. Set up a little email list and we keep in constant contact with each other, although I've got no burning desire to see any of them.

jade_dragon 10-02-2004 04:33 PM

I tracked down some of the more important people I used to talk to, but I use the net mostly to track people who think they can hide out when they owe me something :Graucho

That's pretty much the way I feel. A guy I knew tried to rekindle a friendship with me a few years ago and we wound up just sitting there with nothing to say, except to bring back old memories of the things we used to do. We had very little in common anymore.

IPK 10-03-2004 02:55 AM

penpals? what passes for entertainment back then is such a joke!

Drake 10-03-2004 03:02 AM

hahaha I like to forget most of the people in my past

Tricksy 10-03-2004 04:30 AM

I love 2 do such surprises 4 my old friends... :thumbsup

Actually she didn't. Her bio is on the company's site and it says she's lived in Europe, California, Seattle, Nevada, and a couple other states in all that time.

But talking about people that stay in the same place, my mother has been in the same house for 31 years. I don't know how she does it, I like something new and different at the minimum of every 5 years.

Yea know what you are saying, I hate staying in the same place for a long time. I should be 100% adult for my income by the first of the new year, once I do that I'm going to start moving around quite a bit.

A psycho ex-girlfriend from 18 years ago found me via the Net the other day.

She's getting divorced and I assume she was looking for a bootie call.

She phoned me and we spoke for about an hour. I'm not
going to see here though, not worth the risk.

She was one of the prettiest girlfriends I've had, but also the scariest.

Sarah_Jayne 10-03-2004 09:35 AM

last year I had some girl who had been in my homeroom in high school email me. She had been such a bitch and frankly helped to make every morning of those 4 years hell. She emails me and acts as if we were best friends. Fuck off.
