Starting a new TOON affiliate program...tips?
 

I'm looking to start an affiliate program based on my adult toons. I figure by January 2005 I'll be ready. That all depends on the new procedures and techniques that have cropped up since last time I tested the waters.

So what do you look for in an affiliate? Since I'm a one-man-gang I can offer bigger payout percentages. That's for starts and none of that bullshit minimum time period for rebills. Once you sell you get the rebill for the life of the program. I figure if a guy is gonna sell your site you should make it both profitable and equitable for their efforts.

Other than that, will be hunting for processors, promo people etc.

Observation 1:

Go into the Heavy Metal (American cartoon style) erotic toons niche.... too much hentai already.

Observation 2:

Movies. Movies. Movies.

A cheap way would be to do it first in SWF then save to AVI then convert to MGP

Speaking from experience, don't jump into it. Get everything ready and get in touch with as many TGP owners as possible. FHG's are a MUST, you're missing out if you don't make FHG's.

Payouts.. standard seems to be 50-60% recurring.
All depends on how much you wanna charge.

Just make sure you're ready for it and offer something original, [like your custom content] because surfers are tired of seeing the same JAB content on every fucking site.

For sure Shadow. I'm one of the guys who started the toon niche on the web. Been around that long. I don't use the hentai/manga stuff because everytime you do it's inevitable that 6 months later you end up in court with some Japanese company. I stay as far away from that shit as possible. They settle their lawsuits in silence so not to disrupt production. I know many a sobbing webmaster wishing he'd have hired some cartoonists instead.


All my stuff I own and make. Plain and simple. I haven't gotten into the affiliate thing because it used to be very time consuming but technology and procedures have changed for the better. I believe in solid targeted signups. They stay longer. I'm not doing movies. I don't have an army of slaves working for a bowl of rice cranking out crap.
