I've Been Eating Healthy for 1 Day and Already Feel Better!!!

After watching "Supersize Me!" I had an epiphany and decided to start eating healthy. I started yesterday and already feel better both physically and mentally. I sprang out of bed this morning full of energy instead of my usual lathargic rolling out. I guess eating healthy really does have its benefits.

Here is what I ate yesterday:

Morning: 1 cup of yogurt and a slice of melon.
Mid-Morning: A Protein Shake
Lunch: 8oz Citrus Glazed Salmon with Mixed steamed Veggies and rice
Snack: 1 Rice cake and some peanuts
Dinner: Grilled Chicken Breast with Brocolli

This morning I had yogurt and an orange and for lunch will be having some morning star veggie patties (salsa style) and a head of brocolli.

I swear, that movie had a profound effect on my life! I'm 30 and I really need to start looking out for myself. C'mon, GFY! Get healthy with me! :thumbsup

Don't eat TO healthy. Just eat normal and not to much. That way you can keep eating healthy.

At least that's how I do it already many years:) But then again, we Dutch eat different then most US guys(girls)

i watched it twice. in general, i am a fairly conservative person and believe in personal accountability etc.

After watching that movie and seeing McDonalds in public schools, realizing how much these fast food companies spend on advertising and marketing (well into the billions annually) and really finally considering the extent that McDonalds targets children.... coupled with the fact that there is no possible way that anyone could fund an advertising campaign to counter the message of McDonalds, Coca Cola etc. I really left there feeling legislation was necessary to curb their behavior and even though its more or less un american to do something like that in a free market, I could not help but to feel it was necessary to start tackling the problem this is creating at the federal level.

I was left pretty disturbed. I never gave much thought about so many State schools in many states feeding kids complete shit, or else they are all eating candy bars and coka cola for lunch. Thats insane.

The best way to stay on a healthy diet is to figure out healthy versions of your old favorites. Check out some of Graham Kerr's stuff.

My whole family is a veggetarian (except my little brother). We don't eat any white meat either, but do eat animal products (eggs, milk).

A couple of women couldn't recite the Pledge of Allegence after 4 tries and then when asked what the ingredients of a Bic Mac were rolled off with the "Two all beef patties special sauce lettuce cheese pickles onions on a sesame seed bun"!!! :helpme
