Al Qaeda Tape Urges Attacks..... If we are attacked

I hope they don't, but if it does happen, who is it going to hurt or help the most?

Bush the so called protector or Kerry?

Purported Al Qaeda Tape Urges Attacks
Friday, October 01, 2004

Probe Links Charity to Bin Laden
DUBAI, United Arab Emirates ? An audio tape purportedly released by Usama bin Laden's deputy calls for attacks on U.S. and British interests everywhere, according to a broadcast Friday by Al-Jazeera television.

The Arab station said the speaker on the tape was Ayman al-Zawahiri (search), an Egyptian-born surgeon and the closest aide to Al Qaeda terrorist group leader.

It was not immediately possible to verify the authenticity of the recording.

The speaker on the latest tape calls on Muslims "not to wait any longer, otherwise, we will be devoured, one country after the other," according to Al-Jazeera.

"The youth must not wait for anyone and must begin resisting from now and learn a lesson from Iraq and Afghanistan and Chechnya (search)."

In addition to the United States and Britain, al-Zawahiri singled out Australia, France, Poland, Norway, South Korea and Japan, saying they had all participated in occupying Afghanistan, Iraq or Chechnya and gave Israel the "means of survival."

An Al-Jazeera producer said the tape was "supposedly received today," by usual means, which he refused to discuss. The station showed almost four minutes in two clips of a longer recording, and, as usual, was not planning to broadcast the tape in full.

The last message purportedly from al-Zawahiri surfaced last month just prior to the third anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks. In that videotape, a bearded al-Zawahiri proclaimed the United States will be defeated in Iraq and Afghanistan (search).

The CIA determined with a high degree of confidence that the speaker in the previous message was al-Zawahiri.

The U.S. government has offered up to $25 million for information leading to his killing or capture.

well kind of figured something was going to happen in oct before the elections. If there is another attack I only think it will help Kerry, since it proves not only is bushes plan not working, but also that bush cant protect USA

Personally I think an attack would help Bush. Most liberals are to easy on things like terrorism. Clinton had the opportunity to get Bin Laden years ago and he didn't do it. When it came to the war on terror Clinton was soft.

It will be the same for Kerry who is already anti-war. He will try to passify the terrorists and it wont work. They want us dead and to be living in the stone age.

Just my :2 cents:

Do you think it would be a decisive blow to the Bush campaign? They would of course spin it and say this is the reason why you need someone that doesn't waver... however the Kerry camp would and should distinctively point out that we are not safer....

You know it will probably happen, how big we don't know. Or have we really got them under control in the US?

I am willing to bet it will be something big overseas, probably an embassy or some other main American interest. The text of the message sounds like Ayman is getting desperate...

It would seem to me they would do anything in order to get to him.... I wonder why they haven't attempted anything specifically against him? I mean if you can hijack four planes and create over a 500 billion dollars in damages and ongoing costs for the US, it seems that it wouldn't be that hard to get to him during his campaigning...

Of course I hope that would never happen but why haven't they tried? All that it would take would be 1 person.

These next 4 weeks are really going to be interesting.
