The Sentia (the small 12.1 inch screen one) is not avaliable from anywhere else... unless you get it unbranded from uniwill. However the larger area-51 you can do better by purchasing a laptop thru Sager or Hypersonic-PC.

Most computers with the exception of Apple and a few others are manufactured by OEM companies like Clevo & uniwill.

M-Tech is cheaper and they use the same quality laptop bodies and components.

My laptop (P4 2.8, 1gig ram, 60gb hd, 128mb vid card) was $2,300 from M-tech back in 2002.

Alienware wanted $3,000 for the same components stuffed into the same exact generic laptop body painted green.

My friend purchased an Area 51 laptop beefed up ($3k) to replace his desktop. He loves it. It's solid, keys feel good, plays games awesome.

this is true. Ive had an alienware desktop for over a year now and I have no complaints at all. Yeah they are mostly gaming computers, but gaming computers mean power for video, sound, processing, and that applies to MANY applications.

I've never tested their laptops, I do know that the falcon northwest fragbook is a mean laptop and worth a look. And you probably wouldnt go wrong with alienware either.

Alienwares are to computer nerds what
gucci wallets are to metrosexuals. Overpriced in the eyes of some, but worth the expense to those who like them. Its all about personal taste I suppose.

Yep, that is what I always tell people but like idiots they HAVE to have a well known label on their laptop. I have a Uniwill laptop and saved several hundred dollars instead of buying it from Dell.
