How is this for service?
About an hour ago we had an issue with a couple of our servers. As usual the provider made up some stuff, and was virtually of no help. So I used the emergency contact for the sys admin we hired, He happens to be in Russia, so with the time zones, I would not expect to see him online for another 3 hours.
Not only did he contact me within 15 minutes, he contacted me from the fucking hospital where he just got out of surgery! That is what I call devotion. Best money I ever spent was putting him on retainer. |

That's good service alright. Rare to find nowadays.
It reminds me of a couple of incidents I've had, one lately, one a long time ago. Not too long ago one of the major boards went down and the regular admin wasn't around, so they called me. I hadn't ever talked to them before, but they had gotton my name from someone who I had done some work for. Anyway, so I ask the guy for the user/pass and within about 10 seconds after he tell me I tell him "Ok", it's back up. The next two sentences - I'm fixing the original cause of the problem now. Ok, done. That was like the first 30 seconds of the conversation, so of course I've been doing work for them ever since. I sure got lucky that the problem was one that could be fixed so fast and I was able to impress this HUGE client. A long time ago another client who had me on retainer called and as I was talking to him he heard the sound of plaintive women. When he asked me what the racket was I told I'd been in the middle of taking care of two women I had met. He shouted - "Well damn, finish that and call me back in 15 minutes!" and hung up. :) |

Its fridy night I was on hold with tech support for 4 hours long distance this morning... apparently they don't have an 800 tech support line for people that pay for it already.
