Starting a paysite... Advice/Suggestions/Readings?
 

Hey guys,
I have a unique idea for a new niche that I'm looking forward to creating a paysite with. I've done research and have had some experience and know there's demand for it - but now I need to the the in's and out's of running a successful paysite and webmaster program.

Does anybody have any reading or suggestions they could post here? I know there was a little workshop in Portland's show about this but I couldn't make it up there. If there's a video recording of the workshop that would be WONDERFUL... or something equivalent to that. As always, your input is much appreciated!

The paysites that I've seen do really well are those where the webmaster pays alot of attention to them.

Updates when you say you'll do them.
Newsletters...wutz new....
Creative text..
Hosts or guides..
Something personal that makes the poor bastard feel like he's at home....

I know a very successful site where the webmaster updates three times a month..answers all emails in a timely fashion....puts himself into the site....makes the members feel special....

He started his partnership program "by invite only" until he got the hang of it...
He offered his webmasters really cool banners....and kept them updated...really creative text links..which he also kept fresh....

It's as if you were reading my mind http://bbs.gofuckyourself.com/board/biggrin.gif I completely intend to allow surfers to have their say with the site, not many paysites that I have seen seem to do this and I want to make them feel as warm and cozy as possible (I'll be sure to have help with the emails hehe http://bbs.gofuckyourself.com/board/smile.gif ) Thanks for the new ideas too! (and more are welcome!) I'm still trying to figure out how many pics/videos I'll need. I'm planning alot of this out from a surfer's pespective so we'll see how it goes when I get it running.
