this is a steal, these emachines are usually cheap but i had one for years and the service and reliability was great. this is a great buy and i think i will buy 2 of them for my house

Trigem went under so they created eMachines. They both sucked.

JSA Matt 09-30-2004 07:52 PM

uhm, you can build one with name brand pieces (that is actually upgradable) for less than that.

NinjaSteve 09-30-2004 08:03 PM

you can get a dell for $350+ too. http://www.techbargains.com/

We got an e-machine once. It was the biggest peice of shit that I have ever owned, You could not do anything with it. It even had a hard time on the net with a high speed connection.

I would say to stay away from them, but that is:2 cents:

My last 2 computers were emachines and i never had any reliability problems but they were kind of slow. I just picked up a no name Athlon XP 2600 for $280, it's very nice for the price.

emachines suck. I had one, a friend got another, just build your own and youŽll be much better off :2 cents:

lil2rich4u2 09-30-2004 09:03 PM

build your own for cheaper?? WTF?

160GB HDD
512mb
DVD burner/reader
CD burner
8 in 1 media reader
17" CRT Monitor included (in store special)
Printer included (in store special)

Total Price: just over $600 (after rebates)

im gonna build that pc and buy monitor/printer for less than $600??? No fucking way.

lil2rich4u2 09-30-2004 09:04 PM

i owned an emachines and i had no problems what so ever.

only thing i disliked was this annoying splash screen with a big "E" on there when booting the pc and it stayed for like 2 minutes, but thats it!

lb_vee 09-30-2004 09:28 PM

If this was 1997, Id tell you to build your own. Today, pretty all the computers are reliable unless you put them outside while its raining.
