Why I probably won't vote for president

I'm in California. There is no debating that 100.0% of my state's electoral college votes will go to John Kerry, whether I vote for him or Bush.

I'll vote when my vote counts, not just makes a statement.

NoCarrier 09-30-2004 11:30 AM

So the thousands of american soldiers that were killed in wars to protect democracy and make sure that clueless idiots like you get to vote, actually did it for nothing?

hottoddy 09-30-2004 11:31 AM

That's one sad thing about the electoral system. Votes tend to count only in "battleground states" - where the race is tight (within 5% or so).

TheLegacy 09-30-2004 11:34 AM

then shut the fuck up if theres a discussion on politics

- you dont want to vote?? then dont - its your right to be a putz, no one is going to hold a gun to your head (well not yet until you get drafted) - maybe thats another reason to do it?

bush (technically) won last time with a difference of around 600 voters. Sure they were all sitting there going, who cares Gore will win!!

If your not part of the solution, then your part of the problem

even so, you should still vote, to make sure that kerry gets his votes. :)

Basic_man 09-30-2004 11:37 AM

Our troops were not sent to war to protect our democracy, they're not there to protect our freedom. They're in war because of the stubborn & self serving leadership of the Bush administration.

I'm personally going to vote for Kerry so that I can be part of the anti Bush statement, but if one doesn't want to vote that's their freedom just as much as it's mine to decide to vote.

Jace 09-30-2004 11:42 AM

i sent my first ever voter registration forms in today

Rich 09-30-2004 11:43 AM

Then vote for Nader!

I was not talking about the current war in Iraq but the wars fought by american soldiers in general.

Sarah_Jayne 09-30-2004 12:05 PM

Fine don't vote. At this stage if people don't know who they are going to vote for or why they should vote then stay home.

loverboy 09-30-2004 12:10 PM

todays debate will surely stir on the polls

Webby 09-30-2004 12:18 PM

The percentage of voting public in the US is a joke.

This either stems for "I ain't got a clue" or "I don't care".

The US will get the President it deserves.

Why is a TV program with two guys making statements called a debate??

A debate involves interaction, challenging and discussing something.

This "debate" is just another facade to avoid embarassment to the "debaters".

It is not a "service" to the US people...

mockingbich 09-30-2004 01:46 PM

I'm not voting either ... Both of them are the same... either way we get more government, more taxes, more illegals, more foreign wars, more treaties, more BS. George Washington warned in his farewell address against partisanship and foreign entanglements. Both of these candidates have got us neck-deep in everything Washington warned against. The truly American thing to do is not vote for either of these traitors!

media 09-30-2004 01:47 PM

Anyone But Bush!!!

Vote for nader then.....

funny , I just yesterday saw on a documentary on dutch television that there were concerns the republicans will win just because the opinion you have is widely shared amongst calfiornians

mardigras 09-30-2004 01:59 PM

If you don't vote you shouldn't feel entitled to complain about the administration the next 4 years:glugglug

titmowse 09-30-2004 01:59 PM

vote. dammit

VirtuMike 09-30-2004 02:02 PM

Just so you know this historymaking debate is tonight broadcast live from the best University in all of America.

I call it historymaking because it's a sham of a debate, it's just two guys speaking words none of them wrote.

Nonetheless, GO CANES!

Both of them are fucknuts and neither are worthy of leading this country. kinda like choosing betwen a prostate exam or a root canal.

warlock5 09-30-2004 02:10 PM

If you don't want to vote for Bush or Kerry, at least vote for a third party that reflects your views.

I don't know, Ashhahahahaha might throw you in jail, but if Kerry raises taxes you've got the IRS to deal with. Its a loose-loose situation for anyone in the US in this business. Its a win for everyone else. As for Iraq, I hear Kerry talking about having some great plan for it, I think the only advantage he has is that he didn't get us into this mess. I'll give it a 50-50 chance that we'll be out of Iraq at the end of Kerry's (maybe) presidential term.

I really don't like either of them. Its too bad that US politics requires a lot of money and a big ego to get to the top now of days. But I am going to vote.

Babagirls 09-30-2004 02:10 PM

thats the same reason why other people dont vote...speak up for yourself!! vote!

I'll take the prostate exam if it's by a hot doctor chick. I understand that they're gentle and loving as they stick their gloved finger up your ass.

Actually your wrong about Taxes. George Bush said Kerry would raise taxes, not John Kerry.

Kerry said he would roll back the tax cuts for anyone who makes over $200,000 a year in order to create new tax cuts for middle class and lower family levels. And no atter how much you disgaree, if you make over $60,000 a year you can afford to pay your taxes and you SHOULD be paying the taxes because that is the kind of society we live in. If your against taxes move to Canada and I bet you will move back and LOVE to pay American taxes.

And the current Bush tax cuts, anyone who falls under $200,000 a year will never see more than a 2% decrease in taxes. So ok dude, if your worried about paying more in taxes I will give you the $10 a year you will save with Bush if you promise to vote for Kerry. :thumbsup

SO makes it pretty simple, vote for Kerry and say the worse that can happen is your life will never improve because of anything he does in office, or vote for Bush and run the risk of going to jail for some bullshit clerical error all because you get caught up in his ultra moral anti-porn movement. Not to mention run the risk of being drafted because we are going to be involved in invading Syria, Iran, will never get out of Iraq and Afgan., and the North Koreans will nuke us before we get to them. And don't forget with the NEW Soviet Republic we will be in another Cold War along with the War on Terror.

Come to think of it, FUCK, Mr. Kerry you can raise my taxes anytime you want as long as you WIN! I happen to like my life and I do not want to see my country involved in war against the rest of the world, I want to get back to peaceful times. :glugglug
