I've been trying to get a pic of him in action but i think he's on to me

to be continued...:glugglug

How old is he?

If a dog was humping before he was fixed then there is a good chance they will continue the behavior post-op.

NaughtyAlysha 09-29-2004 07:08 PM

Cute dog. We've had two of our dogs fixed. One still humps, the other doesn't.

webair 09-29-2004 07:09 PM

some have it...some don't :winkwink:

Humping isn't sexual in dogs, it's an example of their pack behaviour. He's trying to assert his authority over you, trying to be the Alpha Male, so to speak. Have you taken him to obedience school? Sounds like you just need to let him know that you're the boss.

WickedVenus 09-29-2004 07:15 PM

He is so cute!!!! If you need a babysitter let me know.

My dog was fixed when he was one and that was 7 years ago. He still humps my female. It's not sexual, it's dominance.

And for the silicone balls:

I am still coming to terms with the fact that you can buy silicon implants for pets.

"Neuticles allowing your pet to retain his natural look, self esteem and aids in the trauma associated with neutering."

common....

nope its the invisible fence...gives off a tone when he gets too close to the boundaries, if he goes past it give him a small shock...(lowest setting possible)...kind of feels like when you test a 9 volt battery on your tongue...he went through once and now when he hears the tone he knows to back off. It's great it allows him to go outside in the backyard on his own.

Thanks axelcat!

wow, nice gadget to keep the dogs inside the house :thumbsup

I have Boston's as well. My oldest one is 7 years old and he was fixed years ago. He humps everything walking, our other dogs and even the cat.

Mine are living in Seattle with the hubby at our house there. We have one of those old fashioned answering machines so I can call the dogs and talk to them during the day. I have been told when they hear my voice they stop whatever they are doing and run to the phone and then lay on the floor until I hang up.

This breed is very loyal.

Your baby is adorable... keep us posted with pics as he grows up.

Kassidy hit the nail on the head here. Obedience training is huge with all dogs. I take my Rotts in on a regular basis. Could you imagine one of them with a humping problem. Things can get out of hand. Right now the little fella thinks hes the boss. Let him know you are the alpha male in the house as well as anyone else that lives with you. He needs to learn hes at the bottom of the pack.

hottoddy 09-30-2004 11:26 AM

Same thing with male cats and spaying. It's a learned behavior, and some will still do it after being fixed.

ezrydn 09-30-2004 11:28 AM

I got fixed and I'm still humpin'. So, what's the problem?

Lucy 09-30-2004 11:36 AM

very cute dog you got there:thumbsup

tranza 09-30-2004 11:46 AM
