Red Bull legal in Canada?

Just got an email from a friend in Vancouver who says it is on sale now and it does list Taurine as an ingredient. Is this the same stuff as is available everywhere else?

TweetyBird 09-29-2004 05:43 PM

I believe it is legal everywhere in Canada.... at least, it was last time I've checked :glugglug

Really, I thought it was still banned beacause of the Taurine.

rockbear 09-29-2004 05:50 PM

Yep this is not legal. The real Red bull is not legal. This is why a lot of company try to copy them but the taste is not the same at all.

The stuff from Thailand has Nicotine in it and there is no way that's legal. But as far as I can tell this is the same stuff that is commonly available.

I'm in Canada. Vancouver to be exact.

Whoever says it's illegal must have no idea.

Red Bull is sold in some stores including Seven Eleven which is where I purchased the red bull I'm drinking right now. I don't know why but for some reason, I believe that if something is sold in Seven fucking Eleven that it would be fucking LEGAL!!!

According to the label, it contains 1000mg of taurine per 250ml (one can).

It's imported by:

Red Bull Canada Ltd
2800-666 Burrard St
Vancouver, BC
V6C 2Z7

Ben.Z 09-29-2004 06:00 PM

i don't know about canada, but i'm hooked on the shit. :glugglug

Health Canada put the brakes on for a bit because dumb fucks in bars were drinking all night/dancing/taking X and using it to keep going and then getting dehydrated, having wierd reactions and dying.

That's right, it's very recent. I saw it in 7-11 in Toronto last week. Haven't seen it here in Montreal yet. It's expensive though... it was $2.89 a can in Tdot.

alexg 12-11-2004 04:43 PM

Approved in June... I guess it took them a while to get to importing it.

There is a bunch of the horrible thai stuff here in Montreal, I wouldn't touch it because the nicotine makes it potentially addictive... Not something I want to get involved with.

Alex

fris 12-11-2004 06:44 PM

check the ingredients on the canadian redbull its not the same as in the states.

sean416 12-11-2004 06:52 PM

I've never tried it before, can someone tell me what the hype is all about?

mastermikex 12-11-2004 07:14 PM

when i was studying at school the other day, some red bull people came by and gave us free cans as a promotion to give us energy or whatever....good stuff :thumbsup

I have a red bull bottle right here... it's not one of those cans, it's a small brownish glass bottle... all on it is in thai... there is an english label on it, but it doesn't say anything about nicotine... I'm very suspicious though.. because the label has clearly been added in Canada, and the rest is in thai. I bought that bottle in Montreal..

tedwinters 12-11-2004 08:45 PM

Yeah.. the montreal ones can be found in most china towns across canada....
they don't contain taurine, they sometimes contain nicotine, they're not carbonated....

the good stuff are the carbonated ones.. in a can.. with taurine :)

Spudstr 12-11-2004 08:53 PM

was at a strip club across the falls in canada.. sundowners... asked for a vodka and redbull.. they didn't have redbull but they had "energy" same shit.

weird thing, I can't even find a pic of it on the net... mine doesn't say anything about taurine or nicotine.. but the fact that the label was glued over the thai one.. kinda scary imho. :glugglug

Holly 12-11-2004 08:57 PM

Still haven't had one. I've given up.

Steen2 12-11-2004 09:10 PM

I have seen redbull for sale here but I buy it in the states (cheaper) when possible.

Some people can't stand the taste, others don't mind it. It does help you stay awake though.
