Epassporte is giving me a fucking headache ... arrgh ...

Why do they insist on thinking I'm a thief or a scammer ..

Goddamn, I am about to fax them a copy of my birth certificate and social security card (even though they haven't asked for THAT yet) just to make them keep my account out of 'suspended' mode.

I understand it's for my own protection... but Jesus H.

jawanda 09-29-2004 01:27 PM

Well I've been hesistant to sign up with them, simply because I feel like I already have too many accounts with online cash-sending/receiving services ... but so many people / clients use them exclusively that I was finally convincved. Goddamn.

What a pain in my ass.

One more thing to rant about ... why the FUCK can't they send an email to my normal email address?

Is it that fucking hard? Pisses me off having to log into their site every hour to see if they've replied to me.

Argh.

If you are still having problems, email me. kimmy @ epassporte.com and I will have someone look into it.

As to the document verification process, there are two issues that this stems from, the first being the Patriot Act, the second being the Visa "know your customer" rule.

Regardless of how anyone feels about the process, it's simply something that we either comply with or we aren't allowed to handle transactions for the accounts.

I wish it were different but it's not.

Frankly I think I'd be better off looking for a wife at this point.

johndoebob 09-29-2004 02:07 PM

If there wouldn't be so many "epassporte ONLY" people I'd never even have thought about opening an account.

Kimmykim why don't you do verifications like PayPal?Your verification method is illegal in europe according to MasterCard.

Btw. since when does the patriot act apply in Curacao?

Thanks Kimmy, I'll give the minions in 'account verification' a little more time to try and figure it out, then I'll send you an email.

It went like this, I signed up using a debit card that is still billed to my old address ... no problems.

Then I switched my 'Epassporte account address' to my current address, and called customer support to make sure that they'd send the card to my NEW address. The guy on the phone said it would be no problem.

The next day, my account is suspended because the address on file doesn't match my credit card address .. arggh.

So I fax the shit in as requested .. one of the things comes out too dark ..

At this point, I decided to just switch the address BACK to the one that is consistent with my credit card, because I will get the card if sent to this address (mail forwarding) it'll just take an extra few days or a week.

They said this was all good, asked me to verify that that was where I wanted the card sent, and took my account off of 'suspend'. I send them an email verifying that this was correct, and 5 minutes later they re-suspended my account.

That was a few hours ago, haven't heard from them since.

What else can I do lol ????

Call in a napalm strike ;)

johndoebob, there is nothing illegal about the way anything is handled. :)

And we are not Paypal, thanks.

Well according to MasterCard your verification method is illegal in europe and against the protection of privacy laws.

Never understood why you couldn't just charge the amount instead of those strange auth stuff.
