So why do programs hire models as reps?
Somebody PLEASE explain this to me?!?!?!?!?
|
because sex sells, the basis of the whole industry :glugglug
|
Well, I know for a fact Wegcash and Purecash don't. :thumbsup
Though Gabe IS one sexy bitch!!! :Graucho |
We don't hire models as reps, we hire former CIA spooks as our reps..:winkwink:
|
i dont model
is there good money in it?:winkwink: |
Eye candy , and some guys think they gonna get sum if they sign up :1orglaugh
|
Because they know most webmasters go in to porn to look cool not to make money. So a hot chick paying attention to you is cool.

Maybe it's just me, but wouldn't legit webmasters feel offended by this? That a company thinks so little of your business practices that you could be swayed by a pretty girl being nice to you? |

For the record, I am not slamming models who make the transition to behind the scenes. I am asking what provokes companies to deliberately seek them out. Like anyone else in this business, they are forced to prove themselves, and by their (now) peers knowing that they had a former modelling carreer, it makes thier task much more difficult to be taken seriously.

I think it's all about the way the girls present themselves and how well they create and maintain these relationships. It makes a huge difference. :thumbsup Not to mention if they actually know what they are talking about and doing. |

What are you saying... models as full time employees? Posting on boards, doing daily tasks with webmasters, etc?
Or do you mean hiring models for shows? |
Sex sells, and all the fools buy it

Do you mean sponsors who hire attractive marketing reps, or who hire actual models? (Not that matters...it's not like models are less qualified than non-models.) Hiring attractive reps (male or female, but especially youngish females) is common in all sorts of industries. Some people are significantly swayed by that. Most people are more inclined to business with charismatic people, whatever that "charisma" means to them. (It might be looks, or a common background, or sense of humor, or something else).
At adult trade shows, a lot of sponsors hire temp models to draw people over or to hand out flyers, but they're not reps. I don't know how it impacts the bottom line, but it sure does seem to get peoples' attention. I don't see anything wrong with any of it. Companies do what works for them. It's unfortunate for uncharismatic people, as their options are diminished, but that's life. |
Don't diss me, just 'cause I'm pretty.
|
Look at the typical webmaster. Look at the model. A lot of times, this is the only way a webmaster can talk to an attractive girl, so program owners figure there's a better chance of convincing him to send traffic.

i can see both sides of this argument
but i think pretty plus knows their stuff is the ultimate weapon |
