Hi everybody.

I just wanted to get some informations about the other webmasters' conversions.

How is your conversions with TGP traffic these weeks. I started doing well. I am doing around 1:85. My gallery listed on thehun and i got 4 signups. Before 3 weeks, my ratio was around 1:180. But in these weeks it is really good.

I'm at 0:114 for the week...and 0:114 for my entire life, in fact, cause I'm just a loser newbie who has built 4 galleries so far. Should I just give up and go fuck myself?

I hope you can convert better than me. I am using my own paid host and i have a great looking graphic gallery layout. And i got that ratio after listing thehun.

Last month i had a ratio of 1 in 738 with the dollarmachine ... i think that's hard to beat ;-)

1:18 or 1:1000 means nothing.It's how many
impressions your gallery had for one sign up.

I have ratios like 1:80 and similar with different sponsors - means absolutely FUCK ALL when you have galleries in with the big guys (thanks Hun et al http://bbs.gofuckyourself.com/board/biggrin.gif ) and have like, over 150,000 hits on a page, but only 80 go to the sponsor and only 1 signs up - that's the REAL conversion ratio

Seriously though, It's way too early to give up. Sometimes people convert 1:2000. Anyway I know a guy who it took three years till he started making money. Now he's getting 6 or 7 signups a day.

I'm not seriously considering giving up...I just wanted to be told to Go Fuck Myself to feel wanted...

Listen to Rose. Ignore conversions. Pay some attention to signups per unique. But even more significant is -- dollars earned per hour worked.

Our traffic sources (unique):
July traffic overall showed a marked 33% decrease over June.

August shows a 19% upwards trend over last month, (while still displaying a 14% decline from June) so at least for us the slowdown is starting to turn into an upswing. Hopefully this is a good sign.

Those are very good conversion ratios for TGPs. Normally TGP traffic does not convert well because, according to my experience, the following reasons:

a. same pics as a gallery that was posted earlier

b. bad placement of gallery link on TGP's page [near bottom]

c. using same sponsors as most of other galleries

d. using banners without text "lead ins"

Anybody else have "bad traffic reasons" to post?

I wrote an article on increasing conversions:

When starting out in the online porn business, it may seem that the hardest thing is driving traffic to your website/gallery etc. However, it is almost too easy to get traffic to your site, in a market where the demand is phenomenal, and the sources are unlimited. The harder, and more significant task is getting your surfers to click and sign up for your sponsors. How is this done? With a few key marketing tips, any Webmaster can improve their conversion rates.

Focus on the customer, not the product.

When advertising a site, try to appeal to the senses of the customer, instead focusing on the site. Using text links in conjunction with a banner is always a good idea. However, if it?s a generic text link that focuses more on the site, chances are it won?t be that successful. Instead of using a ?10,000 hardcore photos? text link, which describes the site, try something unique that will catch the surfers attention and appeal to their senses like ?More porn than you can shake your dick at.? While both of these links are describing the same feature of a site, the latter one is more personal and prescribes to the AIDA formula (Attention, Interest, Desire Action).

Spend time wisely.

Spend more time on planning rather than acting. Simply taking a banner your sponsor provides and linking it to the site will not produce very good results. Take some time to plan and figure out a way to appeal to the customer. Once you do this, you will realize better results, with less time, energy, and stress.

The rule of seven.

It takes approximately seven exposures before a customer becomes familiar with you. It then takes another seven exposures before they are comfortable enough to make a purchase. Based on this rule, focus your energies on marketing to these targeted customers, rather than trying several approaches for a broad audience. Many believe the reason why sites such as Kara?s XXX (Max Cash), Busty-Amateurs (now Cold Sex), and Amateur Pages have been so successful is partly because of the amount of webmasters that advertise these sites. A regular porn surfer is prone to have seen these ads on numerous sites and occasions.

In conclusion, choose a site with good exposure, spend time wisely and plan a marketing campaign focusing on the customer. Following these three key points will improve your conversion ratios.
