How much did you pay for your first House?

Much did it cost ya?

I wanna buy a new house. Not right now tho, but in the next 6 months I wanna have a new house.

House prices in the UK have rocketed tho, its hard to find something decent for under $250,000 now. And even for that price your pushing what you get, probably a small 3 bedroom house. The bedrooms being really small.

For you to have the house you really wanted, you have to save more money

Its not about saving. I could go out right now and mortgage a more expensive house if I wanted to.

The house prices here just went crazy! My mums house she paid £20,000 for it. Its now worth £90,000. She only bought it 3 years ago. Its a 2 bedroom house with a small back garden.

yep, they'll be there... we'd be moving in on Jan.1st

and we'd have the land across from the house too (that way nobody can build there and block the AWESOME view) so we can tear it up on the quadrunners!

wow i bet that house is worth around 100k plus now too

SleazyDream 09-28-2004 10:41 PM

first one was 65K in 1998 - put over 100K into it in reno though

European Lee 09-28-2004 10:41 PM

The first house i owned was in Pangbourne just outside Reading in Berkshire, was a fixer upper for the equivalent of $350k

Sold it and currently live with the hubby in Florida :)

Looking back i shoulda kept it as the rental costs in that area are now in excess of 3k a month :(

Regards,

Lee

Can't argue at that :)

First house ---> being built right now

It's costing about $US200,000 out of pocket, but it's worth more because the value of the land has appreciated significantly (30%+ in 14mo).

BrainDead 09-29-2004 12:08 AM

dig420 09-29-2004 12:27 AM

781k for a 2500 sq ft house in Cali

dig420 09-29-2004 12:28 AM

and I've dropped about 50k into it since then getting better wiring, fencing for the dogs, central air etc and so on.. it never stops :)

I'm about to have one of the bathrooms remodeled into something swanky

blazin 09-29-2004 01:20 AM

Paid £78k for mine 3 years ago, today its worth £140k, which is about $250k

I dunno if I would have to balls to buy now without the equity I've built up. If labour loose the next election who knows whats gonna happen to the housing market :(
