ok here's what i found

"How the Data Are Collected

National Measurement

The heart of the Nielsen Media Research national ratings service in the United States is an electronic measurement system called the Nielsen People Meter. These meters are placed in a sample of 5,100 households in the U.S., randomly selected and recruited by Nielsen Media Research. The People Meter is placed on each TV set in the sample household. The meter measures two things - what program or channel is being tuned and who is watching. The People Meter is used to collect audience estimates for broadcast and cable networks, nationally distributed syndicated programs and satellite distributors."

Nothing is perfect, but they do have third parties audit their research. If they have two parties audit, then yes, I would consider their numbers as accurate as possible.

Does that mean that one referencing CNN is an impecable source of brilliant information?

How long till people realise that mainstream media sources feed shit into your eyes?

When I watch the news, I tune out the opinions added in by reporters. I hate the local news stations here in Dallas because that's all they do. Fox News is the worst of them. They're so pro-Bush and you can tell.

AdPatron 09-29-2004 04:04 AM

Uh oh, looks like people who watch The Daily Show are also better informed politically.
