A thread for EXPATS...
As I carefully plan my escape I can't help but wonder what unforeseen surprises are going to pop up that I never thought of. As of now, I have researched to death and then some but I would like to hear from a few of you who have made the jump.
Would you care to share things that happened to you, good or bad, that made the transition better or worse? Any unexpected surprises that tossed a wrench into your plans? Thanks, DWB |
what country are u going to?

The only downside to leaving your country is that you will miss the food stuffs you become accustomed to.
At least that is the only downside i have noticed. Family gets missed to but thankfully they can come over for vacation :thumbsup Regards, Lee |
Great thread idea, we're planning too :)

i havent been happier since i left...
and the memory of the stuff i thought i missed was much sweeter than the actual stuff. ive been back a few times since and i cant wait to get out again. all the stuff i thought i missed, you know i really dont. you get used to having real food with real ingredients instead of everything processed and frozen. the only really important things i left behind are people, but people are portable. so thats not a huge deal. good luck and hope you find some place you can be happy. - Seth |
