WebSideStory goes public
http://finance.yahoo.com/q?s=wssi
for oldtimers, websidestory was once a leader in the adult industry with hitbox and adult10000.com. dumped adult to go mainstream years ago and finally made it to the market. i know there are a few other ex-wss'ers around here besides me! |
They used to always say, "if you produce for us we'll give you stock in the company when it goes public."
OK, I produced, pay up! Good for them, it's a totally different company these days. Best of luck. |
Best of luck to them. I always thought it would have been best to keep the adult side of their business alive. They were the biggest at one point.

I remember the blue ballons

they lost huge market share and never could recover from sextracker.

d- you wouldn't have wanted the options they were giving. if i would have cashed in my options when i left i would have been severely upside down.

Actually we did the same thing but never wanted to go thru with it. We were really close. |
Their stats were incredible. I guess the adult counter was one giant beta test for their current applications.

Damn I havnt seen that in ages websidestory was cool

I was one of the very first empoyees of WebSideStory back in the day, it was a fun time to grow with the giant of your industry. I begged them to let me attend that very first IA2000 tradeshow. After attending I came back and sold WSS into going huge at the next convention. I saw potential in the party scene and made WSS lock in the welcoming reception party, bags and other fun marketing angles. Playing with their money in marketing gave me the opportunity to do things most people dream about, especially at that time.
Huge thanks to WebSideStory for giving me my very first opportunity on the Internet, I was never online before that. Those were the days! And just remember, they would have never gone public if it weren't for the adult internet. At one point the adult was 100% of their revenues, then they launched the non adult and didn't really see much money there for a while. |

This was a rough day, especially after sitting through some of the meetings w/ Lehman Bros. |
