How cool is Doom 3?
 

Is it worth playing? Worth buying?

its okay. very creepy and well designed. I got a free copy from a friend. I wouldnt have ever even played it otherwise. its not worth what they are asking right now for it. wait till around christmas when the price drops and pick up a copy.

Its to dark, dark games isnt any fun.

Played couple times . Becomes repetitive after a while

Yeah it is pretty damn dark. but that kinda lends to the creepy factor. when you walk into a new room, darkness surrounds you, feet shuffling from somewhere in the darkness, you pull out your flashlight, scan around the room in small sections. it gets very scary

I enjoyed it but it's the kind of game you either love or you hate...

I guess I'll have to try it, whats the recommended controller to use with the game? Normal mouse or a joystick?

yeh its tooo dark.. dont like that aspect of the game..

While the darkness does make it scary, you get tired of it and just want some damn lighting. It's a pretty good game though.

Doom what a classic :thumbsup never played Doom 3 though :(

You might end up buying a new video card to be able to play at a good frame rate, but besides that, that's a good game imho. I plyed one or two hours almost every evenig for two weeks and really enjoyed it. This is the first scary (and I mean scary) game I ever played and I liked it :thumbsup

My :2 cents:

I got bored with it, too dark and takes no skill.

I only play it in GODMODE. I just use it to go around slashing up zombies. All weapons and Godmode. I probably wouldn't play it otherwise.

It's creepy as all hell, and usually fun but it gets really boring after a playing it for more than a couple days.

Borrow it off a friend ;)

I like it, but definitely only buy it if you have a high end graphics card.
If it seems too dark and you've already turned up the brightness, just pull down the console and type "r_gamma 1.5" or so.

I am loving it......took a bit to get used to the dark...once i got the games settings set it was not to bad.....Make sure you have a good system to run it. All i can say is play it..

Fun at first, then becomes just to repetitive.

I'm not a big player, but I'd don't buy it !

single player replay factor = 0

it's pretty cool

Make sure you download the "ducktape" patch. It adds a flashlight to the end of some of the guns so you don't have to keep switching between your weapon and the flashlight. Makes a big difference.
