I took this pic of it while on my way to Phoenix from Vancouver. That was just in April, or around there.

Looked kinda peaceful then.

I'm soooo glad there is so much glass in my house! :)
Yeah..the news tonite had all the experts on and admitting that this sudden activity caught them off guard and they don't know if it will blow again or not..and if it does if it will be big or small. They're guessing small..but then again, they didn't figure the devastation would happen that took place in 1980 either!

Portland, southern washington & the folks in Eastern Washington are the ones that really need to be worried.

WickedVenus 09-27-2004 10:59 PM

We plan on moving to washington in a few years. Im just glad that im not there right now. I remember the movie volcano, and man that movie scared the crap out of me. Good luck to those there.

Yep... I was there! I remember driving south on I-5 about 10 miles south of Tacoma when it blew. The freeway stopped, everyone got out of there cars and just watched it. It was freaky. It was a mess also.. fine dust everywhere and it totally screwed up cars engines with the fine dust blowing in threw the front grill.

I was an awesome site. Me and a couple friends went up there about a year after it happened. Total distruction. The force o fthe blast took Crystal Lake that sat at the foot of the mountian and moved the entire lake 3 miles to a valley over the seconed ridge of mountians. Trees iblown back flat in rows like dominos... mile after mile after mine. No signs of life or growth.

Never seen anything like it in my life.

TheJimmy 09-27-2004 11:21 PM

scarey, that was a big blast last time it went off...

BrainDead 09-27-2004 11:24 PM

that's scarey! :uhoh
