LOL Our givernment just banned large size chocolate!

Tony Blair has gone too far this time! They have banned large sized chocolate bars among other things in an effort to make the nation healthier.

It would be a great thing if the country was healthier but telling us what size chocolate we can buy is going too far....

My 2nd home is near Hershey, PA. I'll send you a 10 lb Hershey bar. :winkwink:

First I've heard of it. Where did you hear that?

Oh - and you can keep the hershie bar. It doesn't even come close to the taste of a huge bar of cadburys :)

uno 09-27-2004 05:29 PM

The Cadbury vending machines crack me the hell up. Only Cadbury thing I can remember seeing in the states are the annual Cream Eggs.

Damn - you had to go and mention cream eggs. Now I'm wondering if the 24 hour garage down the road has got some...

brb.. off to the 24hr arage to get some cream eggs :glugglug

warlock5 09-27-2004 05:34 PM

1 medium chocolate bar + 1 medium chocolate bar = 1 large chocolate bar :winkwink:

I don't eat much candy, but I'd be pissed if the government told me how large my streaks could be.

... very strange!

Sly 09-27-2004 05:54 PM

What's funny is several people in the States want similar restrictions on foods. It's absolutely ridiculous.

Ah - makes a change from telling us we can't have bananas of a certain shape or pies or whatever else they want to leap on and exaggerate until people start to believe that a remark often made in jest by a politician is true. :winkwink:

I suppose at least it wasn't the Sun 'reporting' it this time.

evildick 09-27-2004 06:26 PM

I guess he wasn't smart enough to realize that people can just buy three or four of the smaller ones if they feel like pigging out.

Rich 09-27-2004 06:28 PM

The should ban all chocolate until they stop using child slaves to make it. :2 cents:

Vitasoy 09-27-2004 06:28 PM

Blah people wiill just eat more small chocolates :P

korzon 09-27-2004 06:29 PM

Tipsy 09-27-2004 06:32 PM

Sorry - missed the BBC link. So...it's not really a true ban. Mearly a suggestion in a government report that confectionary produces have jumped on to remove unprofitable lines and gain some huge, free publicity :glugglug

Well yes sort of right, basically if they dont follow this government line the so called 'fat tax' will kill the business

(if you dont know the fax tax story this is about extra tax going onto unhealthly food much the same way as cigarette tax but on the producer, but not that high obviously.

MT_Butterfly 09-27-2004 07:57 PM

LOL, just wait until a bunch of pms'ing women find out they can't buy a large chocolate bar when they need it the most. It could get real ugly for Blair....:winkwink:

Hah! The cadbury bunnies don't go into heat until late winter or so. Unfortunately they are out of season. :1orglaugh

buzzard 09-27-2004 08:22 PM

Do they? I can imagine some whackos trying to ban super-sized meals.

pornguy 09-27-2004 08:23 PM

And people say that the US is fucked up???

That is crazy.

Yup couldn't agree more. My ass is too fat for my new jeans which I bought two weeks ago.

Tony Blair needs to do something about that!

mardigras 09-28-2004 09:14 AM

Just like when fast food places cut out supersize people will just order 2 packs of fries.

Project-Shadow 09-28-2004 10:09 AM

God damnit.
I'm a chocoholic, living in the U.K.. this wont stop people from buying chocolate lol. What baffles me is why they decide to ban shit like this, instead of creating rec. centres that work, or more gyms.

This is starting to become G.W.B's U.K :321GFY

Tom_PMs 09-28-2004 10:13 AM

lol wow that is ridiculous!

Besides, all they need to do is rename the sizes like they do with pizza, except add a new Super Jumbo Large size that is auto-banned. Then you can order a medium and get a large.

Oh and yeah, nothing beats a nice dark chocolate..

Mr Dickovitch 09-28-2004 10:23 AM

Your country is so pathetic you aren't even allowed to choose what food you can eat.
:1orglaugh :1orglaugh

FlyingIguana 09-28-2004 10:28 AM

what about the skinny guys who need to eat them just to keep their weight?
