how many icons are on your desktop?
 

I have 234 icons on my desktop (dual 17" monitors running at 1024x768)

.. i think it's time to do some cleaning

5 icons.. dual monitors at 1152x768

Only the 4 you can't remove (windows 2000).

I am so bad to send stuff to the desktop while surfing to avoid being sidetracked from what I am doing. Occasionally I go to the desktop folder and sort things by file type, move all web shortcuts to an unsorted folder in Favorites and other file types to various desktop junk folders.

back to about a dozen.. had to reformat

35 .. single monitor @ 1152 x 864

I have a habit of putting tons and tons of stuff on the desktop.

About 25 icons here.

15 right now. Usually have around 6-8

a bunch, every month or 2 i go and make a new folder called a month and move all the icons to it, then repeat..

about 40 or so on there at any given time.

XP has a 'hide desktop' tool built in.
Right Click > Arrange Icons By > Show Desktop Items

Awaiting my second 20.1" Dell LCD arriving this week, but on my single one so far I have about 10 icons and about 10 temporary icons such as temporary notes I leave myself at 1600x1200. :thumbsup
