Just out of interest what is the price of cigarettes now in the US? lets say to make it simple 20 Marlboro Red because everywhere has them..

Here in the UK they are now apx 4.70 (8$)

About the same in Canada...8 bones

I bet they tax the same amount of that also

But i dont complain about the price of them here, have to remember im the one smoking and ultimatly put a strain on health care in this country which as im sure you know we do not pay for here other than taxs

Depending where one buys 3.85 - 5.10 including tax per pack for Marlboros.

Range from $4.05 - $4.36 - Newport.

State taxes can be pretty substantial...in New York it's $1.50 a pack, whereas in tobacco-growing states it's usually only a few cents per pack.

just drove thru kentucky over the weekend (saw a bunch of tobacco farms there) . . . ads showing cartons for UNDER $20 were common at gas stations.

The price all depends on state taxes. If you are an alcoholic or chimney chain smokin fool you should live in Kentucky I guess.

Here in Vegas, a carton goes for as low ( name brand ) as $32.95 up to $50.00 depends where you buy them..

You can buy the generics or indian brands for about $25 - 30
